How much does the 2017 GMC Yukon XL cost?

Prices have softened 11.14% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 868 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 GMC Yukon XL a good car?

Yes — the 2017 GMC Yukon XL earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Reviewers consistently praise the spacious interior, luxury features, and strong performance for family trips and towing. That lines up well with its role as a full-size SUV for buyers who want maximum passenger and cargo room with a more premium feel. With 35.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2017 GMC Yukon XL reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with owners describing it as a vehicle they trust for family use, towing, and long-distance comfort. The recurring praise for roomy packaging and strong performance suggests it’s the kind of SUV many owners count on over time. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the vehicle’s appeal and more about making sure prior use and maintenance history support the asking price.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 GMC Yukon XL?

At 55.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with past damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on a large SUV that may have seen family hauling or towing duty. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of wear that could affect long-term ownership costs.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 GMC Yukon XL?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 868 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.14% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 55.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,691, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 GMC Yukon XL's resale value?

The current average of $19,708 sits slightly below last year's $22,179.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can matter if you plan to sell later. A lower current average can make the vehicle easier to buy now, but it may also mean future resale gains are more limited unless the SUV is especially well kept. Strong condition, clean history, and desirable equipment will matter more if you want to protect value over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 GMC Yukon XL or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $17,557, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $19,708 average.
• It adds useful convenience and safety updates.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2017 if you want the stronger current-market value story and a model year with high owner satisfaction. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2016 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in excellent condition with the features you want.
