Why it stands out
The 2017 Dodge Durango competes strongly in the full-size SUV market with a blend of performance, space, and style. This SUV can comfortably seat up to seven passengers while providing a robust towing capacity of up to 7,400 pounds, which is ideal for families and adventurers alike. The Durango offers a choice between a fuel-efficient 3.6-liter V6 engine and a more powerful 5.7-liter Hemi V8, the latter enhancing its capacity to tow and adding an engaging driving experience. While its interior is functional rather than luxurious, it still features high-quality materials and a commendable infotainment system via FCA’s Uconnect, which aids in usability and convenience. It’s a great vehicle. I love the looks. I love the tow capacity: I love the features and room. The 3.6/8 speed is a great combo. But… the small offset crash rating is a disaster. And as a dad of teens it made me cross it off my list. Why hasn’t dodge addresses this? Even mitigated it?
