Why it stands out
The 2017 Dodge Durango distinguishes itself in the full-size SUV segment with its blend of power, space, and utility. With a choice between a capable V6 and a robust V8 engine, it offers impressive towing capacity, reaching up to 7,400 pounds with the V8. The spacious interior comfortably accommodates up to seven passengers, while standard features like three-zone climate control and a user-friendly Uconnect infotainment system enhance the driving experience. Despite a rugged build that aligns with the Dodge brand, its adaptable seating configurations and vast cargo space make it a functional family hauler. However, prospective buyers should be aware of the Durango's mixed safety ratings, especially in crash tests, which some users have noted as a factor in their purchasing decisions.

It’s a great vehicle. I love the looks. I love the tow capacity: I love the features and room. The 3.6/8 speed is a great combo. But… the small offset crash rating is a disaster. And as a dad of teens it made me cross it off my list. Why hasn’t dodge addresses this? Even mitigated it?
