Used 2017 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale nearSaint Louis, MO

How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse cost?

Prices have softened 12.58% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,898 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its space, comfort, and style, and many also like the powerful performance and all-wheel drive for handling different weather conditions. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a family-focused three-row crossover with a roomy cabin and practical everyday usability. With 29.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful shopping opportunity in the market.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback emphasizes a dependable-feeling ownership experience centered on comfort, space, and everyday livability. That said, the broader model-year reputation points to long-term concerns around electrical, power steering, engine, and transmission trouble, so you should treat reliability as something to verify carefully on any used example.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a neglected vehicle could bring expensive repair exposure if maintenance history is weak.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Traverse?

At 61.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership history before you get too far into the process. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to signs of prior body repair, uneven panel gaps, and any warning lights or drivability issues. Because this model has a mixed reliability reputation, condition and maintenance history matter more than usual.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Traverse?

This is a moderate market, so selective buyers can still find value if they shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,898 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.58% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,042, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $10,081 sits slightly below last year's $11,532.

That price decline suggests the model has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help limit further downside if you buy at the right price. For a future seller, that means your best protection is to buy well, keep the vehicle in strong condition, and maintain service records. A lower entry price can also make it easier to stay competitive when you eventually list it again.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.58% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $15,220, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $10,081 average.
• The redesign brings a larger, more useful, and more efficient package.

The bottom line: If you want the lower purchase price and are comfortable shopping carefully for condition, the 2017 is the value play. If you can stretch your budget and want the newer redesign, the 2018 is the better long-term alternative; price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2017 and prioritize clean history and maintenance records.
