Used 2017 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale nearChicago, IL

How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse cost?

Prices have softened 11.81% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,848 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its space, comfort, and style, and they also like the powerful performance and all-wheel drive for handling different weather conditions. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a family-focused three-row SUV with easy everyday usability and room for passengers and cargo. With 28.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle people tend to count on for space, comfort, and all-wheel-drive confidence. That said, the model’s reliability reputation is a weak point in the broader ownership picture, so you should treat condition and maintenance history as especially important. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is ending up with a well-priced example that has been neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Traverse?

At 60.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with accident records. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on the body, suspension, electronics, and signs of uneven wear. Because this model is valued for family use and practicality, condition matters more than ever when you’re comparing similar listings.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Traverse?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find value.

• Deal availability: 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,848 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.81% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,043, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $10,132 sits slightly below last year's $11,489.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive resale environment. If you buy now, you’re entering at a lower price point than a year ago, which can help cushion depreciation. Strong demand for roomy, comfortable family SUVs should still support interest, especially in well-kept examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.81% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $15,216, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $10,132 average.
• The redesign brings a larger, more useful, and more efficient three-row SUV.

The bottom line:
You should lean toward the 2017 if your priority is value, especially if you want a roomy family SUV at a lower entry price. If you can stretch your budget and want the newer redesign, the 2018 is the better path for buyers who value the updated package more than upfront savings.
