How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado cost?

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado earns a 4.73/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.

Owners commonly praise its reliability, performance, and value, and they also like its smooth ride and versatility as a work truck. That lines up well with its role as a midsize pickup that blends capability with everyday usability, especially if you want a truck that can handle work duties without feeling oversized. With 32.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

Owners rate it 4.73/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also highlights reliability, and many drivers describe the truck as dependable in everyday use. That said, some shoppers note diesel maintenance costs, so long-term ownership risk is best managed by checking service history carefully and focusing on well-maintained examples.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Colorado?

At 63.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on bodywork quality, signs of past collision repair, and overall mechanical condition. Because this truck has known ownership concerns around certain drivetrain and maintenance issues, condition and documentation matter more than mileage alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Colorado?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,029 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.89% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,294, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado's resale value?

The current average of $18,294 sits slightly below last year's $19,648.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited unless you choose a well-kept truck. If you plan to sell later, condition, maintenance records, and trim desirability will matter a lot because buyers tend to reward clean, well-documented examples. A truck bought at the right price today gives you more room to preserve value over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.73/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.89% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.73/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $17,226, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $18,294 average.
• It offers a stout diesel engine and a smaller footprint that makes it easier to live with.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around shopping environment, the 2017 is the better primary target because pricing has eased and inventory is broad enough to compare carefully. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2016 is the better secondary path, especially if you value its lower average price and compact, versatile character.
