There are 501 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 BMW 7 Series a good car?

Yes — the 2017 BMW 7 Series earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its luxurious experience, powerful performance, and impressive features, and many also highlight the smooth ride, spacious interior, and advanced safety technology. With 31.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2017 BMW 7 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable-feeling luxury experience, with praise centered on the smooth ride, powerful performance, and overall quality of the cabin and features. That said, some reviewers mention high maintenance costs, so long-term ownership risk for used buyers is more about expensive upkeep than a lack of appeal.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 BMW 7 Series?

At 56.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on a luxury sedan where repair costs can climb quickly. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and whether the car’s features and electronics work as intended.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 BMW 7 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 501 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.65% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,336, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 BMW 7 Series's resale value?

The current average of $19,378 sits slightly below last year's $21,932.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the car in strong condition, you can reduce the impact of depreciation. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment and clean history should hold up better than average.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 BMW 7 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.65% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a flagship luxury sedan with strong owner approval and a softer price than last year, the 2017 is the primary year to target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than chasing a specific badge year.
