How much does the 2017 BMW 7 Series cost?

Is the 2017 BMW 7 Series a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the luxurious experience, powerful performance, smooth ride, spacious interior, and advanced safety technology. For you, that makes this a compelling choice if you want a flagship sedan that emphasizes comfort, technology, and a more engaging driving feel. With 34.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is also a meaningful amount of market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2017 BMW 7 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with praise centered on the smooth ride, strong performance, and luxurious day-to-day use. That said, some reviewers mention high maintenance costs, so long-term ownership risk for used buyers is less about basic satisfaction and more about keeping up with premium upkeep.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 BMW 7 Series?

At 57% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on a luxury sedan where repair costs can climb quickly if something was overlooked. Focus on overall condition, service history, and evidence of careful ownership rather than just the asking price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 BMW 7 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you’re willing to compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 507 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.54% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $19,345, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 BMW 7 Series's resale value?

The current average of $19,494 sits slightly below last year's $21,791.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that value retention will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance history. Well-kept examples should fare better than neglected ones, especially in a segment where buyers expect a premium ownership experience.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 BMW 7 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.54% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

If you want the best balance of price, owner satisfaction, and current market opportunity, the 2017 is a strong place to start. You should focus on well-documented, accident-free examples because condition matters a lot in this segment. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2017 stands out as a solid buy when you find a clean one at the right price.
