What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Toyota Camry?

At 45.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a thorough inspection of bodywork, tires, brakes, and any signs of prior repair quality. Because the car’s appeal depends heavily on comfort, reliability, and safety, condition matters more than usual when you’re comparing examples.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XLE example in the review shows how much equipment can vary, with features like keyless entry and ignition, a blind-spot monitor with cross-traffic alert, a premium audio system, a moonroof, and wireless charging. Base-trim cars may miss some of those convenience and tech upgrades.
• Powertrain: The Camry Hybrid uses a 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder/electric motor setup with a nickel-metal hydride battery pack. The review describes it as smooth and responsive, with 200 hp overall and an EPA-estimated 40 mpg city/38 mpg highway.
• Safety package: The available Advanced Technology Package adds the Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, and automatic high beams. The review also mentions a blind-spot monitor with cross-traffic alert, so check carefully which driver-assistance features are actually fitted.
• Infotainment: The Entune Premium system uses a 7-inch touchscreen. The review also notes USB and Aux inputs, and wireless charging is available, but phone compatibility can be an issue.
• Fuel efficiency: The Camry Hybrid is rated at 40 mpg city/38 mpg highway.

Choose the 2016 if:

• Owners rate it 4.57/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It delivers a competent hybrid experience with strong space, safety, and everyday usability.

Consider the 2015 if:

• It adds more style, a nicer interior, and broader infotainment and safety tech.
