Is the 2016 Ford Taurus a good car?

Yes — 4.7/5 is a strong user rating for this model year. The 2016 Taurus is positioned as a roomy, mainstream sedan with a more substantial feel than many midsize alternatives, and it still offers the kind of equipment many used-family-car shoppers want. It also gives you a broad appeal mix: a sensible sedan for everyday use, plus a performance-oriented option at the top of the range.

With 28.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2016 Ford Taurus reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2016 Taurus is described as part of a long-running sixth generation that had already been refreshed, which suggests a mature product rather than a first-year redesign. It also benefits from a lineup that includes multiple powertrain choices and a substantial, family-sedan focus.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is ending up with a car that has been worn harder than it looks, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Ford Taurus?

At 55.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage was minor or structural. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of uneven wear or repair. Because this is a used family sedan, you should also pay close attention to how well the interior, electronics, and seats have held up.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Ford Taurus?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find reasonable options.

If you find a listing below $9,940, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Ford Taurus's resale value?

The current average of $10,363 sits slightly below last year's $10,451.

That small decline suggests the market has been stable rather than volatile, which is helpful if you plan to resell later. A steady price pattern can make it easier to estimate future value, especially if you buy at a fair number today. The Taurus also has a practical, mainstream appeal that can help keep demand consistent among shoppers looking for a roomy used sedan.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Ford Taurus or consider a different year?

• At 55.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
