The owner feedback points to a truck people feel they can count on, with praise for toughness, dependability, and long-term usefulness. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is buying a truck with heavy-duty wear that has not been documented clearly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Ford F-250 Super Duty?

At 66.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on signs of hard use, especially on a truck that may have spent its life towing or hauling. Pay close attention to overall condition, because a heavy-duty pickup can look clean while still carrying significant mechanical wear.

That modest decline suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. Strong owner satisfaction can also help support demand when it is time to sell.

Should I buy a 2016 Ford F-250 Super Duty or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 25.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 66.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.38/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $33,346, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $25,936 average.
• It brings newer technology and a fully redesigned Super Duty platform.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2016 is the smarter starting point because it combines strong owner satisfaction with a lower average price. If you are willing to pay more for newer tech and a redesigned truck, the 2017 is the better upgrade path. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2016 offers the more compelling balance of capability and cost.
