How much does the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette cost?

Prices have softened 2.67% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,082 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette earns a 4.94/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its exceptional performance, strong value for money, sleek design, and modern interior features. That lines up with the car’s use-case as a performance-first sports car with a significantly updated cabin and a focus on style and speed. If you want a used sports car that feels special and delivers serious capability, this model year fits that brief well. The market also shows 32.3% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette reliable?

Owners rate it 4.94/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a car that owners feel good about living with, and the review summary emphasizes exceptional performance, value for money, and a design that continues to impress. The expert evaluation also highlights the Corvette’s strong performance and its ability to deliver serious capability without feeling out of place in daily use. The powertrain’s direct injection and cylinder deactivation add a bit of efficiency to the mix, which supports the idea that this is a car you can count on for more than just weekend thrills.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the car’s core appeal and more about finding one that has been well cared for, since condition and maintenance history matter a lot on a performance car like this.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Chevrolet Corvette?

At 73.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on cars with performance packages or higher-mileage use. Pay close attention to signs of hard driving, interior wear, and any evidence that the car has not been maintained carefully. Because owner feedback also mentions smoke odor in some used examples, cabin condition is worth checking closely.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base 1LT already delivers the Corvette’s core performance and styling, while 2LT adds heated and ventilated seats, curb-view cameras, Bose audio, and a heads-up display. The 3LT adds leather surfaces everywhere, Napa leather seating, navigation, and the Performance Data Recorder, so it suits you best if you want the most upscale cabin and the most track-friendly equipment.
• Powertrain: You get a 6.2-liter pushrod V8 with 455 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, plus either a 7-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic. The engine’s cylinder deactivation adds a bit of fuel-efficiency help, and the car’s tall top gear is meant for highway cruising.
• Safety package: The Corvette comes standard with 4 airbags, side-impact airbags, a protective cell, four-wheel antilock brakes, and electronic stability control. Higher trims add front- and rear-facing cameras to help with parking and backing out.
• Infotainment: Dual 8-inch screens anchor the cabin, and Chevrolet MyLink includes phone, audio, and navigation when equipped. Apple CarPlay is included, Android Auto was to follow later, and OnStar adds connected features such as remote start/stop, diagnostics, maintenance notifications, and emergency assistance.
• Fuel efficiency: The V8 uses cylinder deactivation, and the tall 7th gear is designed for highway cruising, but the car still calls for premium fuel and a lot of tank-filling if you drive it hard.

Which 2016 Chevrolet Corvette trim should I buy?

The 2016 Chevrolet Corvette is offered in 3 trim levels: 1LT, 2LT, 3LT.

Here's the short version:

• 1LT: This is the most straightforward way into the Corvette experience, and it already gives you the core performance, styling, and driver-focused layout. It makes sense if you want the car’s fundamentals without paying for extra comfort or tech.
• 2LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds heated and ventilated seats, curb-view cameras, Bose audio, and a heads-up display. If you want a more livable Corvette without jumping to the top trim, this is the one to target.
• 3LT: Choose this if you want the most luxurious cabin, with leather surfaces everywhere, Napa leather seating, navigation, and the Performance Data Recorder. It’s the right pick if you want the most complete feature set and plan to enjoy the car on road or track.

Higher trims can add front- and rear-facing cameras to assist with parking and backing out.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Chevrolet Corvette?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,082 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.67% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 73.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $54,083, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette's resale value?

The current average of $55,367 sits slightly below last year's $56,883.

That kind of price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future resale gains may be limited unless you choose a particularly desirable example. Well-kept cars with the right equipment should hold up better than rougher or heavily modified ones. If you buy carefully, you can improve your odds of getting a strong return later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.94/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette safe?

The Chevrolet Corvette has not been rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The Corvette comes standard with 4 airbags, including side-impact airbags and a protective cell, plus four-wheel antilock brakes and electronic stability control. Higher trims add front- and rear-facing cameras to help when parking and backing out. Visibility is limited because of the car’s low stance and small windows, so you should expect some tradeoffs in everyday maneuvering.

Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Corvette or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 73.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.94/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2016 stands out for its updated interior, standard Apple CarPlay, and the availability of Magnetic Ride Control across the lineup.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of updated cabin, serious performance, and broad market availability, the 2016 is the one to focus on. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can still find value here, but you should be selective about condition, equipment, and history so you don’t give up the benefits that make this model year appealing in the first place.
