How much does the 2016 BMW X3 cost?

Prices have softened 9.32% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 902 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 BMW X3 a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.5/5, which points to strong overall satisfaction. The user review summary highlights its smooth driving experience, powerful performance, and luxury features, along with the appeal of its mid-size SUV styling and sports car handling. For you, that means it fits especially well if you want a premium SUV that feels engaging on the road while still working as an everyday family vehicle. With 34.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is also a meaningful share of inventory worth a closer look.

Is the 2016 BMW X3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user review summary points to a vehicle that many owners find dependable in daily use, with praise centered on its smooth driving experience and strong performance. It also suggests that buyers tend to count on its premium feel and overall ownership experience, even if some costs run higher than average. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that maintenance and repair expenses can add up, so condition and service history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 BMW X3?

At 61.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on body condition, signs of repair, and any wear that could point to deferred maintenance. Because ownership costs can be higher on this model, you should also pay close attention to service records and overall mechanical condition.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 BMW X3?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 902 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.32% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,306, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 BMW X3's resale value?

The current average of $11,306 sits slightly below last year's $12,468.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the vehicle easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you purchase at a strong price and keep the vehicle in good condition, you can help protect your future value. A well-documented service history and clean condition will matter more when it comes time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 BMW X3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.32% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2016 if you want a well-liked version with a softer price point and enough inventory to shop selectively. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years to see whether a lower entry price or a cleaner history gives you a better overall value.
