How much does the 2016 BMW M4 cost?

Prices are up 3.25% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 209 listings available, which gives you a moderate amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 BMW M4 a good car?

Yes — the 2016 BMW M4 earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its sharp handling, powerful performance, and stylish design, and many also like the manual transmission option and the excellent braking. For you, that means this is a compelling choice if you want a compact high-performance coupe that still works as an everyday car. With 27.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 BMW M4 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also highlights the manual transmission option as a reliability plus, along with praise for the car’s dependable-feeling performance and trouble-free ownership experience. If you are shopping used, that kind of satisfaction can reduce long-term ownership risk, but you should still verify maintenance history and condition carefully on a performance car.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 BMW M4?

At 50.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean cars from those with prior damage or repeated repairs. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention on the brakes, suspension, steering, and any aftermarket modifications. Because this model is performance-focused, condition matters as much as mileage when you are comparing listings.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 BMW M4?

This is a seller’s market, so you should act selectively and move quickly when you find a strong example.

• Deal availability: 27.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 209 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.25% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 50.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $39,660, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 BMW M4's resale value?

The current average of $42,100 sits slightly above last year's $40,775.

That upward move suggests the market continues to value this model year well, which can help support resale strength if you buy carefully. The combination of strong owner satisfaction and steady demand is a good sign if you plan to sell later. Well-kept examples with clean history and desirable equipment should be easier for future buyers to trust.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 BMW M4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 27.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 50.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.25% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a strong pick if you want the M4’s core performance and you find a clean, well-priced example. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby year may make sense if it gives you a lower entry cost or a better-condition car for the money, but you should still prioritize history and inspection quality over model-year differences.
