How much does the 2016 BMW M4 cost?

Prices have softened 8.49% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 207 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 BMW M4 a good car?

Yes — the 2016 BMW M4 earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its sharp handling, powerful performance, and stylish design, and many also like the manual transmission option. The overview also shows why it appeals to you if you want a compact high-performance coupe that still works as an everyday car. With 30.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive price.

Is the 2016 BMW M4 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also highlights the manual transmission option for its reliability, along with the car’s strong braking and overall appeal as a sports car you can enjoy regularly. That combination suggests the ownership experience can be rewarding if the car has been maintained well.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the model’s appeal and more about how hard it may have been driven, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 BMW M4?

At 51.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on the brakes, suspension, steering, and signs of hard use, since those areas matter most on a performance car. You should also pay close attention to overall condition and any modifications, because those can affect both reliability and resale value.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 BMW M4?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best examples.

• Deal availability: 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 207 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.49% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 51.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $39,646, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 BMW M4's resale value?

The current average of $39,646 sits slightly below last year's $43,325.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more selectively now. For a future seller, the recent decline means resale value may be more sensitive to mileage, condition, and documentation than it would be in a stronger market. Well-kept examples should still draw interest, but you should expect buyers to compare carefully against similarly priced alternatives.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 BMW M4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 51.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.49% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

If you want a well-liked, high-performance coupe with strong owner approval and a softer price than a year ago, the 2016 is a solid primary choice. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than chasing the lowest sticker price.
