How much does the 2015 Toyota Tundra cost?

Is the 2015 Toyota Tundra a good car?

Generally — the 2015 Toyota Tundra earns 4.18/5 from owners and 7.83/10 from expert testing. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its power, reliability, and comfortable ride, and many also like how well it handles towing and heavy work. The overview frames it as a full-size truck with a strong personality, especially in TRD Pro trim, which helps it stand out if you want a more distinctive, rugged-feeling pickup. Even so, fuel economy and interior features remain recurring weak points, so it fits you best if capability matters more than refinement. The market also shows 29.0% good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2015 Toyota Tundra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.18/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to reliability as one of the Tundra’s strengths, alongside power and a comfortable ride. The expert notes also describe it as dependable over time, and the cost-effectiveness commentary says reliability is a bright spot. Toyota’s free scheduled maintenance program for the first 2 years or 25,000 miles adds some ownership reassurance. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a truck this capable can also be expensive to fuel and may have been worked hard.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Toyota Tundra?

At 54.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and pay close attention to any signs of prior body damage, especially if the truck has been used for towing or work. A thorough pre-purchase inspection matters here because the Tundra’s size, ride height, and rugged use can hide wear that isn’t obvious in photos. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and whether the truck’s equipment matches how you plan to use it.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The TRD Pro stands out with Toyota Racing Development off-roading hardware, including upgraded shocks, a higher ride height, a front skid plate, dual exhaust, and styling enhancements. It is available on Double Cab or CrewMax versions, and the base truck misses some of the more specialized rugged equipment.
• Powertrain: The TRD Pro uses a 5.7-liter V8 with 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. It is rated to tow 9,800 pounds and carry a payload of 1,575 pounds, but fuel economy is a weak point, with official estimates of 13 mpg city and 17 mpg highway.
• Safety package: Safety Connect services are not available on any Tundra. A blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert is available in some versions, but not the TRD Pro. A reversing camera is standard.
• Infotainment: The TRD Pro gets a 7-inch touchscreen, navigation, HD Radio, traffic and weather data services, iTunes song-tagging capability, and a quick-charge USB port. It does not offer the JBL premium audio system available in other versions.
• Fuel efficiency: The truck’s week-long average of 14.5 mpg came close to the EPA’s 15 mpg combined estimate, with 13 mpg city and 17 mpg highway official ratings.

Which 2015 Toyota Tundra trim should I buy?

The 2015 Toyota Tundra is offered in 1 trim level: TRD Pro.

Here's the short version:

TRD Pro: This is the standout choice if you want the most distinctive and specialized version of the truck. It adds Toyota Racing Development off-road hardware, a tuned exhaust note, upgraded shocks, a higher ride height, a front skid plate, and bold styling that makes it hard to miss. It also gets the 7-inch Entune-based infotainment setup with navigation and connected services. If you want the most character and the most rugged-feeling setup, this is the trim to target.

Safety Connect services are not available on any Tundra, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is not available on the TRD Pro.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Toyota Tundra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,120 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.49% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 54.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,843, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Toyota Tundra's resale value?

The current average of $23,964 sits slightly below last year's $24,328.

That mild decline suggests the market has softened a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now but may temper short-term appreciation if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the current pricing trend implies you should expect value to hold better if the truck is clean, well maintained, and equipped in a desirable configuration. Strong owner satisfaction also helps keep demand steady when it’s time to list.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.18/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Toyota Tundra safe?

The 2015 Tundra earns four-star ratings from NHTSA overall, and the IIHS gives it Good ratings in all assessed tests.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Safety Connect services are not available on any Tundra, which is a notable omission. A reversing camera is standard, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is available in some versions, though not the TRD Pro. The IIHS small overlap frontal impact test had not been assessed, so that remains a caveat if you want the fullest possible crash-test picture.

Should I buy a 2015 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 54.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.49% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.18/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It pairs strong towing ability with distinctive TRD Pro character and a rugged, specialized feel.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $22,354, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $23,964 average.
• It feels especially well matched to real truck use and work-site duty.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $25,351, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $23,964 average.
• It adds an upgraded Entune system, a larger gas tank, and an integrated brake controller on upper trims.

The bottom line: If you want the most distinctive version of this truck and can live with its fuel economy and feature gaps, the 2015 is the one to target. If price matters most, the 2014 is the smarter value play, while the 2016 makes sense only if you want the newer convenience upgrades and are willing to pay more.
