Used 2015 Toyota Tundra for Sale nearChicago, IL

How much does the 2015 Toyota Tundra cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 1,178 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 Toyota Tundra a good car?

Generally — the 2015 Toyota Tundra earns a 4.2/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

Drivers consistently praise its power, reliability, and comfortable ride, and many also like it for towing and heavy work. The overview points to a truck with strong presence and a TRD Pro setup that stands out, which fits buyers who want a full-size pickup with personality and capability. Even so, the market still shows 32.9% good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2015 Toyota Tundra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.2/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights reliability, and the truck is also described as dependable over time. The expert notes reinforce that theme by calling reliability a bright spot and saying the Tundra should be dependable over time. Toyota also includes free scheduled maintenance for the first 2 years or 25,000 miles of ownership, which helps early ownership costs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a thirsty truck can be more expensive to live with if maintenance history or fuel costs have been neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Toyota Tundra?

At 56.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a close inspection of bodywork, frame condition, and signs of prior repair. Because this truck sits high and can be used hard, it makes sense to focus on wear items, underbody condition, and whether the truck has been maintained consistently. If you’re considering a TRD Pro, pay extra attention to suspension condition and any signs of off-road use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The TRD Pro stands out with Toyota Racing Development off-roading hardware, upgraded shocks, a higher ride height, a front skid plate, dual exhaust, and styling enhancements. It is offered on Double Cab or CrewMax versions, and it does not get the blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert that is available on some other versions.
• Powertrain: The TRD Pro uses a 5.7-liter V8 with 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and a part-time 4-wheel-drive system with Active Traction Control. It is built for strong towing and hauling, but fuel economy is a clear weakness.
• Safety package: Safety Connect services are not available on any Tundra. A blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert is available in some versions, but not the TRD Pro. A reversing camera is standard.
• Infotainment: The TRD Pro gets a premium version of Toyota’s Entune App Suite with a 7-inch touchscreen, navigation, HD Radio, traffic and weather data services, iTunes song-tagging capability, and a quick-charge USB port. It cannot be upgraded to the JBL premium audio system offered in other versions.
• Fuel efficiency: The truck is rated at 13 mpg city and 17 mpg highway, with a 15-mpg combined rating.

Which 2015 Toyota Tundra trim should I buy?

The 2015 Toyota Tundra is offered in 1 trim level: TRD Pro.

Here's the short version:

The TRD Pro is the standout choice if you want the most distinctive Tundra, with special suspension upgrades, off-road hardware, and a more aggressive look and feel. It also brings the strongest personality in the lineup, but it is not the best fit if you want the most advanced safety tech, since blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is not available on this version and Safety Connect is unavailable across the range.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Toyota Tundra?

The market looks moderate, so you can shop selectively and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,178 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,843, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Toyota Tundra's resale value?

The current average of $23,663 sits slightly below last year's $23,745.

That small decline suggests the market has stayed fairly stable rather than swinging sharply. For a future seller, that kind of pricing pattern can be helpful because it points to predictable demand instead of a sudden drop in value. The Tundra’s strong owner satisfaction also supports buyer interest when it comes time to sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.2/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Toyota Tundra safe?

The 2015 Toyota Tundra earns four-star ratings from NHTSA overall, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives it Good commendations in all assessed tests.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The truck includes a reversing camera as standard, and a blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert is available in some versions, though not the TRD Pro. Safety Connect services are not available on any Tundra, which is a notable gap if you want built-in emergency and collision-notification features. The IIHS small overlap frontal impact test has not been assessed.

Should I buy a 2015 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.2/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It stands out most in TRD Pro trim, with special suspension upgrades and a memorable, characterful presence.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $22,502, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $23,663 average.
• It feels especially well suited to real truck use and blends toughness with enough technology for work and weekend duty.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $25,139, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $23,663 average.
• It adds an upgraded Entune system, a larger gas tank, and an integrated brake controller on upper trims.

The bottom line: If you want the most distinctive Tundra personality and can live with its fuel economy and safety-tech gaps, the 2015 is the right target. If price matters most, the 2014 is the better value play, while the 2016 makes sense if you want the newer updates and are willing to pay more.

How does the 2015 Toyota Tundra compare to the 2015 Ford F-150?

Our experts score the 2015 Toyota Tundra 7.8/10 and the 2015 Ford F-150 8.8/10.

The Tundra brings stronger personality and a more distinctive TRD Pro setup, while the F-150 is the better-rated overall truck here. The Ford also offers a lower average used price, more listings, and a higher accident-free share, which makes it easier to shop. The Tundra counters with a higher good-and-great deal share and a more characterful full-size-truck feel.
