How much does the 2023 Toyota Tundra cost?

Prices have softened 6.87% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,801 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable range of choices.

Is the 2023 Toyota Tundra a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Toyota Tundra earns a 4.8/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its powerful engine, comfortable interior, smooth ride, stylish appearance, and fuel efficiency. The truck’s modern redesign and tech-forward cabin also fit buyers who want a more current full-size pickup with strong everyday appeal.

The main trade-offs are its potentially polarizing design and the fact that not all safety features are standard. Even so, the Tundra’s mix of capability, technology, and value makes it a strong fit if you want a modern truck that feels fresh without being a one-year novelty. Good and great deals account for 38.6% of listings, which is a healthy sign of market availability.

Is the 2023 Toyota Tundra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. Reviews also point to a reliable, dependable, and trouble-free ownership experience, with owners highlighting confidence in the truck’s long-term appeal.

The expert review reinforces that theme by describing the Tundra as having a reliable platform and a reputation for durability and value. ToyotaCare also helps by covering factory-scheduled maintenance and roadside assistance for two years or 25,000 miles at no additional cost.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the truck’s condition and history match its strong reputation before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Toyota Tundra?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage truck or one that may have been used for towing. Focus on overall condition, maintenance history, and whether the truck’s equipment matches the trim you want.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SR and SR5 are the entry points, while higher trims add a larger 14-inch touchscreen and more upscale equipment. The SR5 also gets an SX appearance package for 2023, but blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not standard across the lineup.
• Powertrain: You get a standard 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 with 389 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, plus an available hybrid version with 437 hp and 583 lb-ft. The 10-speed automatic and improved suspension help the truck feel smoother and more composed than the previous generation.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 includes automatic emergency braking, road-sign detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-tracing assist, and sway warning. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available, but not standard on every trim.
• Infotainment: An 8-inch touchscreen comes on the SR and SR5, while a 14-inch screen is optional on the SR5 and standard above it. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the system also offers fast response times and crisp graphics.
• Fuel efficiency: The truck was designed with efficiency gains in mind, and the hybrid powertrain is the standout for shoppers who want more power without giving up the modernized setup.

Which 2023 Toyota Tundra trim should I buy?

The 2023 Toyota Tundra is offered in 7 trim levels: SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, TRD Pro, and Capstone.

Here's the short version:

• SR: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the Tundra’s modern redesign and strong core capability. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost path into the lineup and can live without the bigger screen and richer equipment found higher up.
• SR5: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it unlocks more of the Tundra’s tech and can be paired with the SX appearance package. It’s the trim to focus on if you want a balanced mix of value, features, and everyday usability.
• Limited: This is where the Tundra starts to feel more upscale, with the available hybrid powertrain and more premium equipment. It suits you if you want a stronger feature set without jumping all the way to luxury pricing.
• Platinum: This trim adds more standard equipment and includes the hybrid powertrain as part of the broader upscale package. It’s a good fit if you want a more premium truck with strong tech and comfort.
• 1794 Edition: This is the style-forward luxury choice with the hybrid powertrain available and a more distinctive upscale personality. It works best if you want comfort and presence over bargain pricing.
• TRD Pro: This is the off-road-focused trim, with a 1.1-inch lift, Fox shocks, BBS wheels, 33-inch tires, crawl control, and a locking rear differential. Choose it if you want the most trail-ready Tundra.
• Capstone: This is the luxury flagship, with the hybrid powertrain standard and the highest-end positioning in the lineup. It’s the right pick if you want the most premium Tundra experience and are willing to pay for it.

Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available, but they are not standard across the full trim lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Toyota Tundra?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,801 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.87% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $41,560, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Toyota Tundra's resale value?

The current average of $41,560 sits slightly below last year's $44,625.

That softer pricing suggests the truck has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stabilizes. A lower current entry price may also make the Tundra easier to resell later if you keep it in good condition and maintain it well. Strong equipment, desirable trims, and clean history should matter more when it comes time to list it again.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 comes standard and includes automatic emergency braking, road-sign detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-tracing assist, and sway warning. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available, but they are not standard across the lineup.

Should I buy a 2023 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.87% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 adds an SX appearance package for SR5 and keeps the redesigned truck’s modern tech and powertrain.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $37,796, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $41,560 average.
• It launched the redesigned Tundra with modern V6 power and broad updates.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $43,611, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $41,560 average.
• It leans harder into reliability, capability, and the available i-Force Max drivetrain.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, inventory, and the updated Tundra formula, the 2023 is the smart default. If your budget is tighter, the 2022 can save you money while still giving you the redesigned truck; if you want to spend more for a newer-year alternative, the 2024 is the next step up.
