Is the 2015 Toyota Sienna a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Toyota Sienna earns a 4.78/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

You also get free scheduled maintenance during the first couple of years of ownership, which helps reduce early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that condition can vary, so a careful inspection matters more than the badge alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Toyota Sienna?

At 55% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the van has been used heavily for family duty. Focus on signs of wear in the suspension, lower bumpers, and interior equipment, since those are the kinds of areas that can reveal how the van was treated. If you’re comparing multiple listings, condition should matter as much as mileage and price.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Limited Premium test vehicle shows that the higher trims add power sliding doors, power folding third-row seats, front and rear sunroofs, navigation with live traffic, and a rear-seat entertainment system. The base versions are likely to feel much less lavish, so you should compare equipment carefully if you want the most family-friendly setup.
• Powertrain: The 3.5-liter V6 makes 266 hp and works with a 6-speed automatic transmission. It delivers smooth acceleration, can tow up to 3,500 pounds when properly equipped, and returns an EPA-estimated 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, with 21 mpg combined.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Connect includes Automatic Collision Notification and an SOS emergency button, but it is reserved for the most expensive Limited model. Blind-spot monitoring and cross-traffic alert are also highlighted as useful safety features.
• Infotainment: The Sienna uses a 7-inch Entune screen with responsive touch controls, plus a premium JBL audio system and navigation. It also includes USB 2.0 fast-charge ports, advanced voice recognition, and connectivity apps when paired with a smartphone.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA estimates 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, with 21 mpg combined. The test vehicle returned 20.1 mpg in real-world driving.

Which 2015 Toyota Sienna trim should I buy?

The 2015 Toyota Sienna is offered in 1 trim level: Limited Premium.

Here's the short version:

The Limited Premium is the trim described in the data, and it’s the one that shows off the Sienna’s strongest family-hauling and comfort features. It adds the most upscale equipment mentioned here, including power sliding doors, power folding third-row seats, front and rear sunroofs, navigation with live traffic, and the rear-seat entertainment system. If you want the most complete version of this model year, this is the one to target.

Toyota also reserves Safety Connect for the most expensive Limited model, so if that feature matters to you, make sure you verify the exact trim and equipment on any listing.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Toyota Sienna?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,065 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.62% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 55.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,733, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Toyota Sienna's resale value?

The current average of $15,612 sits slightly above last year's $15,362.

That modest increase suggests the market has held up reasonably well for this model year. If you buy carefully and keep the van in good condition, you should have a decent chance of preserving value better than a weaker-used example with accident history or neglected maintenance.

The fact that prices are still above last year’s level also suggests steady buyer interest rather than a softening market. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.78/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Toyota Sienna safe?

The 2015 Toyota Sienna earns a Top Safety Pick from the IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with top scores in all parameters.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota’s safety suite includes blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alert, dynamic radar cruise control, Pre-Collision System, and Safety Connect with Automatic Collision Notification and an SOS emergency button. One caveat is that Safety Connect is reserved for the most expensive Limited model, and the IIHS small-overlap frontal-crash result is only Acceptable rather than the highest score.

Should I buy a 2015 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.62% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.78/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 update broadens safety and tech improvements across the minivan.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $13,018, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $15,612 average.
• It emphasizes practical utility and passenger comfort.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $17,626, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $15,612 average.
• It adds Siri Eyes Free for iPhone users and a bit of extra convenience.

The bottom line: The 2015 is the best all-around choice if you want the strongest mix of safety, tech, and owner satisfaction. If your budget is tighter, the 2014 is the value play; if you want a newer-feeling tech upgrade and can spend more, the 2016 is worth a look.
