CarGurus Analysis: 2015 Porsche 911

Summary
With 382 currently listed for sale and an average price of $123,878.00, 32.2% of 2015 Porsche 911s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Porsche 911 4.91 / 5 stars.
81.2% of 2015 Porsche 911 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2015 Porsche 911 stands out because it sits in the middle of the seventh-generation 991 lineup, a period when Porsche had already blended the car’s classic shape with modern performance and usability. By this point, the 911 had grown a little more than an inch longer than the previous generation, but it still kept the familiar silhouette and the thin bar running between the taillights. It also marked a shift in driver feel, since the move from hydraulic to electric power steering reduced some of the feedback that enthusiasts had long associated with the car.
What makes the 2015 model especially appealing is the breadth of performance on offer. The Carrera used a 3.4-liter six-cylinder boxer engine with 350 horsepower and 287 pound-feet of torque, while the Carrera S stepped up to a 3.8-liter engine with 400 horsepower and 325 pound-feet. Rear-wheel drive was standard on the Carrera, and all-wheel drive was available on the Carrera 4 and 4S. The lineup also included the Turbo and Turbo S, with the Turbo making 520 horsepower and 487 pound-feet of torque and the Turbo S reaching 560 horsepower and 516 pound-feet, both paired with all-wheel drive and the seven-speed PDK gearbox. That range helped make the 911 feel like a sports car that could be tailored from everyday fast to seriously track-focused.
For buyers, the 2015 911’s appeal is not just speed but also the way it balances performance with a usable cabin and strong long-term value. The model is praised for excellent all-around performance, iconic style, and its unique engine layout, though it is also known for limited passenger and cargo space and high maintenance costs. Owners commonly praise its performance and handling, along with the sporty feel, but some have found the infotainment system less intuitive and noted the lack of remote start.

Great cars, probably the best cars for people that like a direct and sporty ride. But overall overpriced and hard to find the correct specification of a pre-owned cars. Their owners tend to buy them and keep them as a second or third vehicle so trade ins are not very common. Buy one and enjoy if you can afford it. You wont be dis-appointed.

Is the 2015 Porsche 911 a good car?
Yes — the 2015 Porsche 911 earns a 4.91/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction.
Owners consistently praise the car’s performance and handling, and they also highlight its speed and sporty feel. The Targa’s convertible hard top feature is another recurring positive, especially if you want a sports car that still feels special in everyday use.
If you want a car that blends iconic styling with serious driving enjoyment, this model year fits that brief well. The main tradeoffs are the limited practicality and the premium ownership experience, but for shoppers focused on performance and character, it lands in a strong spot. 24.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there are still some opportunities if you shop carefully.
Is the 2015 Porsche 911 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.91/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable in the ways that matter most to enthusiasts: it delivers the performance and handling people expect, and many owners describe it as a delight to own. That kind of praise usually reflects a vehicle that people feel confident living with over time.
For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the driving experience and more about the cost of keeping a high-performance sports car in top shape.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Porsche 911?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should start with a history report so you can confirm accident status, title history, and any major red flags before you get too far into the process. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a qualified technician, since condition matters a lot on a car like this.
Focus especially on signs of wear that could affect long-term ownership costs, including how the car was maintained and whether it shows evidence of hard use. A clean-looking listing is not enough on its own; you want proof that the car has been cared for properly.

What is the 2015 Porsche 911's resale value?
The current average of $124,584 sits slightly above last year's $113,227.
That price movement suggests the market continues to value this model year strongly, which is a good sign if you plan to sell later. When a car holds demand while prices rise, it usually means buyers still see it as desirable rather than aging out of favor.
For you, that can translate into better retention of value over time, especially if you keep the car in strong condition and maintain it well. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.91/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2015 Porsche 911 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

- Price trend: Prices are up 10.03% year-over-year.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of owner satisfaction, market demand, and current availability, the 2015 is a compelling choice. If your priority is stretching your budget, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best condition and price combination, since this model’s desirability can keep values firm across the range.
