How much does the 2015 Jeep Wrangler cost?

Prices have softened 7.64% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,870 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2015 Jeep Wrangler a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Jeep Wrangler earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 8/10.

Owners consistently praise its ruggedness, off-road capability, and the fun of driving it, and they also like the removable tops and doors. That lines up with the Wrangler’s purpose-built character in the overview: it is aimed at you if you want distinctive styling and serious trail ability more than everyday polish. The market also shows 32.9% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still attractive buys if you shop carefully.

Is the 2015 Jeep Wrangler reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle you can count on for rugged use, with repeated praise for its durability, off-road capability, and fun factor. The expert driving notes also reinforce its dependable low-speed trail character, with linear power delivery that helps in off-road situations. If you plan to keep one long term, the main ownership risk is that its age, rough-road focus, and known wear concerns can make condition and maintenance history especially important.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Jeep Wrangler?

At 64.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a hands-on inspection of body condition, rust, and signs of hard use. Because this model is often modified, it is also smart to check whether any upgrades were installed cleanly and whether they match your needs. Pay close attention to the interior and cargo area too, since owner feedback and expert notes both point to tradeoffs in comfort and space.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Wrangler is offered in Sport, Sahara, and Rubicon, with the Sport starting more simply on 16-inch steel wheels while the Sahara adds larger 18-inch wheels and more creature comforts. The Rubicon editions sit at the top for off-road hardware, and the base trim leaves you with fewer comfort and capability extras.
• Powertrain: All Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited models use a 3.6-liter V6 with 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual or an available 5-speed automatic. The engine is tuned more for low-speed off-road work than highway cruising, and EPA fuel economy is 17 mpg city and 21 highway.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes antilock disc brakes on all four wheels, electronic stability control, and traction control. More modern driver-assistance features such as frontal-collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-departure warning are not available, and supplemental front airbags are a $495 option.
• Infotainment: The Wrangler can be fitted with an upgraded sound system and an available 9-speaker Alpine setup, along with navigation, heated seats, and leather. The tech story is more about comfort and off-road controls than a large modern screen or wireless smartphone integration.
• Fuel efficiency: The Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited manage 17 mpg city and 21 highway, according to the EPA.

Which 2015 Jeep Wrangler trim should I buy?

The 2015 Jeep Wrangler is offered in 3 trim levels: Sport, Sahara, and Rubicon.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, so it makes the most sense if you want the Wrangler’s core identity at the lowest starting point and plan to keep things simple.
• Sahara: This is the best-value trim if you want more everyday comfort, since it adds larger wheels and more creature comforts without jumping straight to the most specialized off-road setup.
• Rubicon: This is the trim to choose if off-road capability is your priority, because it brings the most serious trail hardware and sits at the top of the lineup.

The Rubicon editions are the pinnacle for off-roading, while the Sahara is the better fit if you want a more comfortable daily driver.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Jeep Wrangler?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop, but the best listings can still move quickly.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,870 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.64% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,145, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Jeep Wrangler's resale value?

The current average of $16,145 sits slightly below last year's $17,480.

That decline suggests the market has softened, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper what you recover later as a seller. Even so, the Wrangler’s distinctive identity and loyal following can help support demand when you eventually list it. Condition will matter a lot, especially because buyers in this segment often compare history, modifications, and overall wear very closely.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Jeep Wrangler safe?

The Wrangler received a Moderate rating in small-overlap front collisions and head restraints and seats, a Poor rating in side collisions, and a Good rating in moderate-overlap front collisions from IIHS. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the Wrangler only three-star ratings in rollover crash testing.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

The Wrangler’s safety equipment is basic by modern standards, with standard antilock disc brakes, electronic stability control, and traction control. More advanced driver-assistance features such as frontal-collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-departure warning indicators are not available, and supplemental front airbags are a $495 option. The main caveat is that its crash-test results and limited safety tech leave it behind more modern SUVs.

Should I buy a 2015 Jeep Wrangler or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds an upgraded sound system and fresh editions while keeping the Wrangler’s rugged identity intact.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $15,218, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $16,145 average.
• It is a rugged, affordable off-road icon.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $17,090, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $16,145 average.
• It adds a convertible-top, year-round 4WD appeal with distinctive styling.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price and the 2015 updates, this is the year to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2014 can save you money, while the 2016 is worth considering if you want to spend more for a slightly newer take on the same formula.

How does the 2015 Jeep Wrangler compare to the 2015 Toyota 4Runner?

Our experts score the 2015 Jeep Wrangler 6.5/10 and the 2015 Toyota 4Runner 7.3/10. The Wrangler is the more affordable and more plentiful option, while the 4Runner carries a higher average used price and a stronger expert score. The Wrangler also has the edge in off-road personality and owner enthusiasm, but the 4Runner compares favorably on overall balance and safety. If you want the more rugged, characterful choice, the Wrangler fits; if you want the stronger all-around score, the 4Runner is the better bet.
