Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Honda Accord 4.75 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it an 8.17 / 10.
79.5% of 2015 Accord models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2015 Honda Accord stands out as a midsize sedan that does a lot of things well. It is described as exceptionally well-engineered and likely to provide dependable service for many years, which gives it a strong reputation for durability. It also has broad appeal because, once business sales are removed, it is presented as the best-selling family four-door in America, a sign that it has earned trust from a wide range of buyers.
What makes the 2015 Accord especially attractive is its balance of strengths. The source says it excels at everything it is asked to do, making it an excellent choice among midsize sedans. Owner feedback reinforces that impression, with drivers frequently praising its reliability, smooth driving experience, and fuel efficiency. It is also often seen as a good value and a practical fit for families or new drivers. The main drawbacks mentioned in reviews are more limited, centering on cleanliness at purchase and concerns about the sound system, rather than major flaws in the car itself.

I love the interior and exterior design of the car and the added amenities such as the feature that allows me to start the car from inside. I feel that it’s an economy little luxury car. The only other thing that I would want would be a sunroof top.

The expert driving notes also describe it as a vehicle that should provide dependable service day in and day out for many years. On the cost side, it is described as quite reliable and as a car that doesn’t cost much to own and operate.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Honda Accord?
At 45.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a close inspection of body panels, paint consistency, and repair quality. Because some listings may have prior damage, condition matters as much as mileage and price. It also helps to focus on the features and trim equipment you actually want, since Honda packages many upgrades by trim rather than as standalone options.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The LX is already well equipped with dual-zone automatic climate control, an 8-inch display screen, Bluetooth, Internet radio access, text-messaging support, a rear-view camera, and 16-inch alloy wheels. The Sport adds a small bump in power, paddle shifters, a firmer suspension, unique 18-inch aluminum wheels, and an 8-way power driver’s seat. The EX adds 17-inch aluminum wheels, a power sunroof, keyless entry with push-button start, LaneWatch blind-spot monitoring, and an upgraded sound system. The EX-L adds leather upholstery, heated front seats, a 4-way power passenger seat, and a touchscreen infotainment system with HondaLink, satellite radio, and Aha smartphone media connection. The Touring adds LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, the V6 engine, and navigation as standard equipment.
- Powertrain: You can choose between a 4-cylinder and a V6 gasoline engine, or between a gas-electric and a plug-in gas-electric engine. The 4-cylinder is described as smooth, refined, and sprightly, while the V6 is the stronger choice for quicker acceleration. The CVT helps deliver power smoothly, and the car’s fuel economy is described as good for the midsize sedan class.
- Safety package: Honda’s LaneWatch blind-spot monitoring system, lane-departure warning system, and forward-collision warning system are not available on the Sport test car. Automatic Collision Notification through HondaLink also does not apply to the LX or Sport. A rear-view camera is standard on every 2015 Accord.
- Infotainment: The LX and Sport use an 8-inch display screen with Bluetooth and text-messaging support. More advanced features such as satellite radio, HondaLink with Aha connectivity, navigation, and adaptive cruise control require moving up to the EX, EX-L, or Touring.
- Fuel efficiency: The 4-cylinder test car is described as returning around 26 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway, and the writer averaged 26.8 mpg in city-heavy driving. The Accord Hybrid is noted for a 50-mpg city fuel economy rating.
Which 2015 Honda Accord trim should I buy?
The 2015 Honda Accord is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, Touring.
Here's the short version:
- LX: This is the value-focused starting point, and it already gives you a rear-view camera, dual-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth, an 8-inch display screen, and 16-inch alloy wheels. It makes sense if you want the Accord’s core strengths without paying for extras you may not need.
- Sport: This is the best-value trim if you want a more engaging drive, because it adds a small power bump, paddle shifters, a firmer suspension, unique 18-inch wheels, and an 8-way power driver’s seat. It suits you if you care more about driving feel than extra tech.
- EX: This is the trim to target if you want a more complete everyday package, since it adds a sunroof, keyless entry with push-button start, LaneWatch, and an upgraded sound system. It is the step up that most clearly broadens the car’s appeal.
- EX-L: This is the comfort-oriented choice, with leather, heated front seats, a power passenger seat, and a touchscreen infotainment system with HondaLink, satellite radio, and Aha. It also opens the door to the V6 and navigation.
- Touring: This is the most fully equipped version, with the V6, navigation, LED headlights, and adaptive cruise control standard. It makes the most sense if you want the top equipment set and are willing to pay for it.
The safety-package note is important here: Honda’s more advanced driver-assistance features are not spread evenly across the lineup, so check trim carefully before you buy.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Honda Accord?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.
- Deal availability: 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 2,070 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 1.69% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 45.9% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $12,738, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Honda Accord's resale value?
The current average of $13,288 sits slightly below last year's $13,516.
That modest decline suggests the market has softened a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may slightly temper what you recover later. Even so, the Accord’s reputation for reliability, value, and broad appeal should help it remain attractive to future shoppers. Because it is a popular family sedan with strong owner satisfaction, it should continue to draw steady demand in the used market.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Honda Accord safe?
The 2015 Honda Accord earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA.
It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.
Honda’s standard rear-view camera is included on every 2015 Accord, but the more advanced active-safety features are not evenly available across the lineup. The Sport test car is ineligible for LaneWatch blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, and forward-collision warning, and Automatic Collision Notification through HondaLink does not apply to the LX or Sport. That means you should pay close attention to trim if safety tech matters to you.
Should I buy a 2015 Honda Accord or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 45.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 1.69% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2015 Accord is exceptionally well-engineered and built for dependable service over many years.
Consider the 2014 if:
- At $11,968, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $13,288 average.
- It feels more upscale inside and offers strong value.
Consider the 2016 if:
- At $14,491, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $13,288 average.
- It adds improvements that make the sedan better in several ways.
The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, reputation, and broad appeal, the 2015 is the smart default. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2014 is the cheaper path; if you want to spend more for incremental improvements, the 2016 is the alternative to compare.
