How much does the 2015 Ford Mustang cost?

Prices have softened 2.93% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,575 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2015 Ford Mustang a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Ford Mustang earns a 4.75/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the power, handling, classic design, comfort, and nostalgic feel. That lines up with the car’s role as a redesigned, more technologically advanced sports coupe that still keeps the Mustang’s familiar personality. If you want a performance car with strong emotional appeal and broad enthusiast credibility, this year fits that brief well.

The market also shows 31.5% good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2015 Ford Mustang reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable and satisfying to live with, with praise centered on power, handling, comfort, and the classic Mustang experience. The expert cost-effectiveness notes also describe Mustangs as historically slightly better than average in quality and dependability, though the redesigned 2015 model is more technologically sophisticated than earlier versions.

The expert driving notes also suggest a well-sorted, composed car that feels refined in daily use, which supports confidence in long-term ownership. For used buyers, the main risk is that this redesign introduced more technology, so condition and feature verification matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Ford Mustang?

At 55.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been modified or driven hard. Focus on signs of prior bodywork, missing equipment, and any quality issues that may not show up in photos. Because this is a performance car, condition matters as much as mileage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GT stands out for its 5.0-liter V8 and available Recaro performance seats, while the more sparsely equipped test car shows that some lower-spec versions can feel basic if you want more convenience and tech.
• Powertrain: You can shop a 435-hp 5.0-liter V8 or a turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder with 310 hp. The manual transmission is described as refined, and an automatic with paddle shifters is available.
• Safety package: Standard MyKey lets you set limits for younger drivers, while a reversing camera is standard. Blind-spot information with cross-traffic alert and adaptive cruise control are available, and Sync includes 911 Assist.
• Infotainment: The standard setup leans on knobs, buttons, Bluetooth, and voice control. An optional MyFord Touch system adds an 8-inch touchscreen, with navigation and premium audio available after that.
• Fuel efficiency: The GT test car returned 18.6 mpg, while the EPA estimate cited 15 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. The EcoBoost example returned 23.2 mpg.

Which 2015 Ford Mustang trim should I buy?

The 2015 Ford Mustang is offered in 2 trim levels: GT, EcoBoost.

Here's the short version:

• EcoBoost: This is the better-value choice if you want Mustang style and stronger efficiency without stepping up to the V8. It can be paired with a manual gearbox, a Performance Package, and Recaro performance seats for less than $30,000, making it the smarter pick for buyers who care about balance and budget.
• GT: Choose this if you want the full Mustang experience, led by the 5.0-liter V8, stronger emotional appeal, and the loud, tire-smoking character that defines the nameplate. It suits you best if performance and sound matter more than efficiency.

The safety content also notes that a reversing camera is standard, with blind-spot information, cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control available.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Ford Mustang?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,575 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.93% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 55.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,606, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Ford Mustang's resale value?

The current average of $19,625 sits slightly below last year's $20,217.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more selectively now. For a future seller, it means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained. Well-kept examples should still draw interest because the Mustang nameplate has strong enthusiast appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Ford Mustang safe?

The Mustang gets five-star ratings from NHTSA for nearly all assessments, including rollover resistance, and the IIHS rates it Good in the moderate overlap frontal-impact test.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes MyKey for setting limits for teen drivers, a reversing camera, and Sync with 911 Assist. Blind-spot information with cross-traffic alert and adaptive cruise control are available options. The main caveat is that some of those driver-assistance features are not standard, so you’ll want to confirm exactly what’s on the car you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2015 Ford Mustang or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.93% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Ford’s redesign makes this year a big step forward in both dynamics and technology.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $15,614, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $19,625 average.
• It feels like the culmination of five decades of development.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $18,850, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $19,625 average.
• It adds fresh styling touches and Sync 3.

The bottom line: If you want the most important redesign-year improvements, the 2015 is the right target. If your priority is spending less, the 2014 is the value play, while the 2016 is worth a look if you want a slightly newer take with updated tech and styling.
