How much does the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class cost?

Prices have softened 5.46% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,084 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable range of choices.

Is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 6.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 8/10.

Owners consistently praise its luxury features, strong performance, and stylish design, and they also call out the handling, acceleration, and interior quality. That lines up with the overview: you’re looking at a midsize luxury sedan that leans into premium materials, comfort, and a polished balance of capability. If you want a refined used luxury car with a strong badge appeal and a composed driving feel, this model year fits that brief well.

36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a car that feels dependable in daily use, with owners repeatedly highlighting strong performance and a premium cabin that holds up well over time. The expert evaluation also notes that you don’t need to worry about fixing it all the time, and that reliability is expected to be better than average over time. Mercedes also positions this car as a long-term ownership statement rather than a disposable commuter, which fits the way many used buyers will experience it.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a premium car can still bring premium repair and maintenance costs if prior care was inconsistent.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

At 58.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has higher mileage or a long option list. Pay close attention to bodywork quality, interior wear, and whether the car’s equipment functions as intended, since this model’s appeal depends heavily on condition and features. If you’re comparing multiple listings, the cleanest example with the best maintenance record is usually the smarter buy.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The sedan lineup includes the E250 BlueTec, E350, E400 Hybrid, E550 4Matic, E63 AMG 4Matic, and E63 AMG S 4Matic. The E250 BlueTec and E350 are the lower-cost entry points, while the AMG versions add more standard equipment and performance-focused upgrades. The E350 is the most popular engine choice in the reviewed sedan, and the Sport Styling Package changes the look with a sport grille, split-spoke wheels, a subtle body kit, and a sport-tuned suspension.
• Powertrain: The reviewed sedan uses a 3.5-liter V6 with a 7-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, rated at 302 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. Mercedes also offers Eco and Normal engine calibrations, plus Eco and Sport transmission modes. If fuel economy matters most, the E250 BlueTec is the efficiency-oriented choice.
• Safety package: The Intelligent Drive umbrella includes Collision Prevention Assist and an improved Attention Assist system as standard. Available features include Steering Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Brake Assist Plus with Cross-Traffic Assist, Pre-Safe Brake, and Pre-Safe Plus. The Lane Tracking Package bundles Blind Spot Assist and Lane Keeping Assist, while the Driver Assistance Package adds active versions of those systems plus Distronic Plus cruise control with Steering Assist and additional pre-collision functions.
• Infotainment: The cabin uses the COMAND system, and the reviewed car’s display is described as small. Available tech includes hard-drive navigation, Bluetooth, mBrace2 telematics, Mercedes-Benz Apps, and access to multiple media sources and connected services.
• Fuel efficiency: The reviewed E350 4Matic is rated at 21 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined. The expert evaluation also notes that the E250 BlueTec is the better pick if you want to maximize miles per gallon.

Which 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class trim should I buy?

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is offered in 6 trim levels: E250 BlueTec, E350, E400 Hybrid, E550 4Matic, E63 AMG 4Matic, and E63 AMG S 4Matic.

Here's the short version:

• E250 BlueTec: This is the efficiency-first choice, and it makes the most sense if you want the lowest running-cost focus in the lineup. It’s the trim to target if fuel economy matters more than extra power or luxury extras.
• E350: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it’s the most popular sedan engine and gives you the core E-Class experience without jumping into the pricier performance models. If you want the broadest balance of comfort, capability, and price, start here.
• E400 Hybrid: This trim adds a hybrid powertrain option for buyers who want a different efficiency-and-luxury mix than the diesel or V6 models. It suits you if you want a more upscale powertrain choice without moving into AMG territory.
• E550 4Matic: This is the stronger luxury-performance step up, and it also can be optioned with Airmatic adaptive air suspension. Choose it if you want more power and a richer feature set.
• E63 AMG 4Matic: This is the performance-focused model with more standard equipment and upgrades unavailable on other E-Class sedans, including a premium Bang & Olufsen BeoSound audio system, carbon fiber trim, and 19-inch forged aluminum wheels. It’s for you if performance is the priority.
• E63 AMG S 4Matic: This is the top performance trim in the lineup and sits above the E63 AMG 4Matic. Pick it only if you want the most aggressive version of the sedan.

Safety equipment is packaged into the relatively simple Lane Tracking Package and the more complex Driver Assistance Package, so a well-equipped non-AMG car can still be the smarter buy than a stripped higher trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,084 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.46% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 58.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,475, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class's resale value?

The current average of $12,649 sits slightly below last year's $13,379.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that this model year is still moving in a softer pricing environment, so condition, mileage, and equipment will matter more when it’s time to list. Well-kept examples with desirable features should hold up better than neglected ones, especially because shoppers in this segment tend to compare condition closely.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class safe?

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class benefits from significant upgrades to its safety technology under the Intelligent Drive umbrella.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes Collision Prevention Assist and an improved Attention Assist system. Available driver-assistance features include Steering Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Brake Assist Plus with Cross-Traffic Assist, Pre-Safe Brake, and Pre-Safe Plus. The Lane Tracking Package and Driver Assistance Package group many of these systems together, so trim and option content matter if you want the most advanced setup.

Should I buy a 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.46% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2014 model stands out for its strong performance, premium materials, and advanced technology, even if its value depends heavily on the Mercedes-Benz badge.

The bottom line: If you want a used E-Class with a strong mix of comfort, performance, and luxury presence, the 2014 is a solid path to consider. If you’re especially price-sensitive, focus on the cleanest, best-maintained example you can find rather than chasing the highest trim, because condition and equipment will matter more than badge prestige alone.
