Summary
With 470 currently listed for sale and an average price of $15,517.00, 32.8% of 2014 Lexus ES models for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2014 Lexus ES 4.78 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it an 8.17 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2014 Lexus ES stands out as a luxury sedan that puts comfort first without feeling dull from behind the wheel. It soaks up bumps and potholes, yet still delivers a responsive drive with tight handling. That balance makes it appealing to buyers who want a refined daily driver that is easy to live with and still feels composed on the road.
It also has the kind of strengths that matter in a premium sedan: it is comfortable, offers great ride quality, and is spacious. The ES’s long-standing reputation for reliability and affordability of parts adds to its appeal, and owners often praise its luxurious feel, smooth ride, and quality performance. One practical drawback is that the rear seat does not fold down, and some reviewers also noted that certain advanced safety technologies were missing for the price.

This is my fourth Lexus ES350 and I have loved every one that I have purchased. The car is luxury all around but dependable and affordable. It’s safe, it’s classy, it’s comfortable and stylish. I highly recommend Lexus.

We are quite happy with our recent purchase of a 2014 Lexus ES 350. We were able to negotiate a fair price for the car. It has just enough new tech to be a considerable upgrade for my wife. We looked at Toyota Avalons and Hyundai Sonatas before settling on the Lexus. We went with the Lexus due to its clean vehicle history, very good condition, low miles and great critical reviews. We even had it checked with an independent mechanic. We are very pleased with this car that we expect to keep for at least ten years.

How much does the 2014 Lexus ES cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $15,565 |
| Year-Round Low | $14,420.04 |
| Year-Round High | $15,792.38 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $15,576 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −0.07% |
Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.
There are 461 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
If you find a listing below $14,420.04, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2014 Lexus ES a good car?
Yes — the 2014 Lexus ES earns a 4.78/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Cost effectiveness, and Technology.
Owners consistently praise its luxurious feel, comfort, and quality performance, and they also highlight its stylish design and smooth ride. For you, that points to a refined daily driver that feels upscale without being tiring to live with.
The trade-offs are that it is not trying to be a sport sedan, and the rear seat does not fold down. It fits best if you want a comfortable, spacious luxury sedan for everyday use rather than maximum versatility.
The market also looks reasonably accessible, with 28.9% of listings marked as good or great deals.
Is the 2014 Lexus ES reliable?
Owners rate it 4.78/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback repeatedly points to reliability, and the expert summary reinforces Lexus’s reputation for reliability and affordability of parts. That combination suggests you are looking at a sedan that many buyers expect to be dependable over the long haul.
The performance write-up also emphasizes that it feels poised and never harsh, which supports the sense that it is built for steady, trouble-free daily use. If you are shopping used, the main risk is less about the car’s basic character and more about how well the specific example has been maintained.
What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Lexus ES?
At 49.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has any signs of prior bodywork or electrical issues. Pay close attention to overall condition, because the ES’s appeal depends heavily on how well it has been kept up.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base version has a class-leading 10 airbags, while higher-option versions can add lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and a backup camera.
- Powertrain: The ES 350 uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 268 horsepower and 248 pound feet of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and drive modes that include Normal, Eco, and Sport.
- Safety package: Available driver-assistance features include lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and a backup camera, with the base version already getting 10 airbags.
- Infotainment: Lexus uses the Remote Touch controller with an LCD screen and force feedback, and the system is described as intuitive after a short learning curve.
- Fuel efficiency: The ES 350 is described as achieving 21 mpg city, 31 highway, and 24 combined in Eco mode.
Which 2014 Lexus ES trim should I buy?
The 2014 Lexus ES is offered in 1 trim level: ES 350.
Here's the short version:
The ES 350 is the trim to focus on if you want the core ES experience: a comfortable, spacious luxury sedan with strong ride quality, a refined cabin, and a well-rounded feature set. It is the best-value choice here because the available content points to a single, fully developed model rather than a ladder of increasingly expensive versions.
The base safety setup is already strong, with 10 airbags, and available driver-assistance features can add more peace of mind if the specific listing includes them. If you want the simplest path to the ES’s comfort-first formula, this is the one to target.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Lexus ES?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without expecting deep bargains on every listing.
- Deal availability: 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 461 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 49.7% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $14,420.04, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2014 Lexus ES's resale value?
The current average of $15,565 sits slightly below last year's $15,576.
That small decline suggests the market has been stable rather than volatile, which is usually helpful if you plan to resell later. A steady price pattern can make it easier to estimate what your car may be worth down the road, especially if you buy at a sensible price and keep it in strong condition.
Because the model’s pricing has held close to last year’s level, you are less likely to face a sharp value drop tied to market swings. Strong condition and a clean history should matter more than timing alone for future resale.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.78/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2014 Lexus ES safe?
It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.
Depending on which option package you select, the ES 350 can be fitted with lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and a backup camera, while the base version has 10 airbags. That gives you a solid safety foundation, but the feature set varies by listing, so you should confirm exactly what is installed.
One important caveat is the backup camera behavior: startup messages can block part of the image when you first shift into reverse. If safety tech matters to you, make sure the camera and any driver-assistance features work properly during your inspection.
Should I buy a 2014 Lexus ES or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2014 if:
- 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 49.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.78/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- It combines a comfortable ride, strong reliability reputation, and a well-equipped luxury-sedan feel.
Consider the 2015 if:
- At $17,009, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $15,565 average.
- It adds a more engaging driving character while keeping the same comfort-first luxury focus.
The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2014 is the smarter starting point because pricing is stable and the owner satisfaction signal is strong. If you are willing to pay more for a newer model year and want a slightly more engaging feel, the 2015 is the alternative to compare.
