Summary
With 51 currently listed for sale near Fort Worth, TX and an average price of $10,496.00, 9.8% of 2014 Dodge Chargers for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2014 Dodge Charger 4.78 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it an 8.33 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2014 Dodge Charger stands out for blending full-size muscle-car presence with everyday practicality. Its big, red, hulking shape makes a strong first impression, yet the car is described as a far more sophisticated machine than its retro shell may suggest. It also wears a name and silhouette that recall the classic Charger while adding four doors, which gives it a distinctive mix of style and usability.
Under the hood, the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 is described as an award-winning powerplant that moves the 3,964-pound Charger quite quickly. In this form, the car reaches 0-60 in 6.5 seconds, which helps explain why it can feel genuinely quick even without stepping up to the more powerful V8 versions. That said, the V6 model is still noted as not quite as powerful as the R/T and SRT variants, so buyers looking at this version get strong performance without the full upper-end muscle of the range.
Owners also praise the 2014 Dodge Charger for its power and performance, along with a smooth ride. Features such as the sunroof, heated seats, and Beats audio are recurring favorites. A potential drawback is fuel economy, which some reviewers see as a downside.

I purchased a 2014 RT Plus AWD Charger with 67,000 miles. It required one $800 repair to a part of the engine performed expertly by AAMCO (forget about bringing it to the dealership to be repaired; youll only be ripped off.) The car served me very well until an accident at 82,000 miles without any other repairs. Ive seen Chargers for sale with up to 152,000 miles and still going. Its a great car if you can find one starting around the 70,000/80,000 mile range or less!

The car has great low mileage. The baby has some nicks and scratches, but nothing surprising for a 2014. The engine and undercarriage looks like show room material. After searching different web sites, I found this one to be the best value. It would be nice to have a sun roof, but I am pleased with its features. I would compare the 8 speed to a mustang or camaro.

Great car! I had the 2014 r/t All wheel drive. If I had it to do over, I never would’ve gotten rid of it. The only thing I was going to do is get leather done on the seats. Car always ran great and was very fun to drive.

Yes — the 2014 Dodge Charger earns a 4.78/5 user rating and an 8.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.
Owners consistently praise its power and performance, smooth ride, and standout features like the sunroof, heated seats, and Beats audio. In practical terms, that lines up well with the Charger’s full-size sedan shape and its mix of style and everyday usability from the overview.
With 19.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.
Is the 2014 Dodge Charger reliable?
Owners rate it 4.78/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also points to a car that feels dependable and fun to drive, with praise centered on strong performance and a smooth ride. The expert drive notes reinforce that impression by describing the V6 as an award-winning powerplant and the Charger as a sophisticated machine rather than just a retro lookalike.
The cost-effectiveness notes also suggest the LED taillights should last a long time, which is a small but useful ownership plus. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a performance-oriented sedan can bring higher running costs if it has been driven hard or poorly maintained.
What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Dodge Charger?
At 49.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been modified or shows signs of hard use. Focus on body condition, tire wear, brake feel, and whether the electronics and driver-assistance features work as intended.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The SE includes standard LED taillights, a power 6-way driver’s seat, remote keyless entry, three power accessory outlets, and a USB audio auxiliary jack, while the SXT adds more equipment and a more upscale feel.
- Powertrain: The base V6 and 8-speed automatic pairing is surprisingly quick, with 0-60 mph in 6.5 seconds; rear-wheel-drive versions can also use a 5-speed automatic, while the V8 options bring much more power but worse fuel economy.
- Safety package: The available safety suite includes lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision avoidance, and a backup camera, with rear cross-path warning available as part of the backup system.
- Infotainment: The available Uconnect system is designed to be simple and easy to use, and the car can pair with a smartphone through Bluetooth; the available Beats By Dre stereo is also part of the tech story.
- Fuel efficiency: The base rear-wheel-drive V6 with the 5-speed automatic returns 18 mpg city and 27 highway, while V6 models with the 8-speed automatic improve to 19/31; the all-wheel-drive SXT with the 8-speed auto is estimated at 18/27.
Which 2014 Dodge Charger trim should I buy?
The 2014 Dodge Charger is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SXT, R/T, SRT.
Here's the short version:
- SE: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Charger’s core style plus standard LED taillights, a power 6-way driver’s seat, remote keyless entry, three power accessory outlets, and a USB audio auxiliary jack. It makes sense if you want the look and basic functionality at the lowest price.
- SXT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds a more complete everyday experience while keeping the V6’s strong performance and usable efficiency. It also captures the Charger’s personality well without pushing you into V8 fuel costs.
- R/T: Choose this if you want the stronger V8 character and are willing to accept the fuel penalty. It’s the step up for buyers who care more about power than value.
- SRT: This is the top performance choice, with the 392-cubic-inch V8 and the most expensive starting price. It suits you if maximum muscle is the priority.
The safety package is available with lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision avoidance, and a backup camera, with rear cross-path warning available as part of the backup system.

What is the 2014 Dodge Charger’s resale value?
The current average of $10,678 sits slightly below last year's $11,561.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now but may limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. If you keep the car in strong condition and avoid accident history, you’ll be in a better position to preserve value. The Charger’s strong owner satisfaction helps support demand over time.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.78/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2014 Dodge Charger safe?
It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.
The Charger is also available with a lane-departure warning system, blind-spot monitoring system, and forward-collision avoidance. The backup camera is a standout, with a large, crisp display, and rear cross-path warning is available to help when backing out of tight spaces.
One caveat is that the forward warning can be oversensitive, so you may need to learn when to tune it out. The car’s size also adds a sense of security, but you should still verify that all driver-assistance features work properly on any used example.
Should I buy a 2014 Dodge Charger or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2014 if:
- 19.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 49.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.64% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.78/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2014 combines full-size muscle-car style with everyday practicality and a quick V6 setup.
Consider the 2015 if:
- At $13,143, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $10,678 average.
- It brings a sleeker front and brighter rear end for a more aggressive look.
The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2014 is the smarter buy because it delivers strong performance, good owner satisfaction, and a lower average price. If you’re willing to spend more for updated styling, the 2015 is the cleaner alternative.
