A remote-control open and close is standard on the full-power trunk lid. The Town Car features a long list of standard safety equipment such as: dual-stage front airbags, front side airbags, crumple zones, side guard door beams, four-wheel ABS discs, All-Speed Traction Control, electronic brakeforce distribution, and a tire pressure monitor. In addition, the Town Car has a sterling crash test record, being the first to receive a five-star rating in all five of the government test categories. And it has done this for eight years in a row (2001-2008). While not at or even near the automotive technological forefront, the Lincoln Town Car retains a loyal buyer base due to its genuine six-passenger interior, monster trunk, silky-smooth ride, luxuriously quiet interior, tank-like safety, and economical pricing for the amount of car purchased.
