2008 Subaru Impreza test drive
overall

Standard all-wheel drive helps the Impreza stand out among small cars, but it falls short on visual flair and cabin quality.
Few small cars venture into the niche dominated by the Subaru Impreza. Available as a sedan or hatchback wagon, the Impreza features standard all-wheel drive and a unique boxer-engine layout.
The Impreza has been completely redesigned for 2008 with a new look and new interior. Its familiar drivetrain remains intact but made more modern.

The vehicle is peppy and fun to drive, is extremely dependable, is the safest thing I have ever driven in bad conditions, and has cost me very little to maintain. It makes me happy every time I get inside, and it looks up-scale enough to generate many complements when people ride in it.

Acceleration isn't all that great but definitely isn't bad, could definitely be fixed with the WRX instead but I didn't have the money. Exterior has some solid styling I really like it. The car is fun to drive and gets great gas mileage. The payments are very low as well.

Performance: Acceleration - Slow due to WeightOfCar/SOHC/only170hp Braking - Decent for a stock car under 20k Handling - AWD BABY! AINT NOTHING BETTER! Build Quality: Everything seems to be in order except for maybe my e-brake light turns on. Appearance: Interior - As good as a modern day compact car can be. Plastic but what cars arent these days under 20k? well built and nothing is loose or hanging after 2 years. Exterior - It's either you love it or you hate it. and I LOOOOOOOOOVE IT! Cost of Ownership: Gas Mileage - not so great but thats expected of all AWD vehicles. Maintenance - Have not had to repair anything on this vehicle after two years. Fun Factor - The handling is a must to experience, if not this car then drive another subaru and experience why the Subaru name is known for their ability to handle on the road. AWD is standard in all Subaru vehicles!
