Used 2008 Honda Ridgeline for Sale near New Jersey

Ridgeline trim options expanded for the previous model year, but Honda's sporty multipurpose truck returns unchanged for 2008. The Ridgeline was introduced for the 2006 model year, and quickly became a top seller for Honda, thanks to its car-like ride and SUV flexibility. The truck also has a few unique features, like a lockable trunk under the cargo bed.

There are four available variations of Honda's midsize pickup for 2008. The base level RT is equipped with the convenience basics, like power windows, power mirrors, keyless entry, cruise control and air conditioning. The RTX offers several appearance upgrades, while the third-tier RTS adds luxury items. The fully equipped RTL is essentially a combination of RTS and RTX features, plus dual-zone climate control and leather, heated seats. This top-level trim is the only Ridgeline that can be equipped with an optional navigation system.

All Ridgelines come standard with a comprehensive list of safety features, including traction control, stability control, ABS with brake assist, seat-mounted side airbags, and full-length side curtain airbags.

All four trims house the same drivetrain: a 3.5-liter V6 mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. This power plant delivers 247 horsepower and 245 pound-feet of torque. Honda's VTM-4 (Variable Torque Management) all-wheel-drive system is standard on all trims. The Ridgeline will haul 5,000 pounds, and it is capable of carrying 1,550 pounds in payload.

Consumers have reported the Ridgeline's road manners to be sporty and well-controlled, but the ride is very cushioned for a truck. Because Honda intended the Ridgeline to balance car-like attributes and truck convenience, many buyers may find that this unique vehicle lacks some of the desirable elements of full-size trucks, like a big V8 and off-road prowess.

Many reviewers found the vehicle's rear seat stiff and unwelcoming, while the driver and front passenger ride in above-average comfort for a truck. The Ridgeline's interior is spacious, and it offers a 60/40 folding rear seat and several storage compartments. Buyers have suggested that a manual transmission and a longer bed might make the Ridgeline a better value. The 60-inch bed is actually quite wide, at nearly 50 inches, allowing for a bit more loading flexibility than many midsize pickups offer.
