Overview

Not much changed for the Yukon SUV with the extended wheelbase as GMC anticipated a major redesign for 2007. The Yukon XL comes in 7 basic trims: SL 1500 2WD, SLE 1500 2WD, SLE 2500 2WD, SL 1500 4WD, SLE 1500 4WD, SLE 2500 4WD, and Denali 4WD. The 1500's have a 5.3 L, 295 hp V8 engine and the 2500's and Denali have a 6.0 L, 335 hp V8. All use 4 speed automatic transmission.
Gas mileage across trims comes out to about 14 mpg in the city and 18 on the highway. Only the SL 1500 trims lack optional sunroof and navigation system. The non-Denali trims have 4 doors and seat 9 while the Denali seats 8. Max towing capacity comes out to 8200, 8500, or 12000 lbs. depending on the trim.
Overall, drivers like the Yukon XL's powerful V8, roomy interior, and smooth handling. However, the bulky size makes for tight driving in residential areas. Despite the occasional issues, reviewers give the Yukon XL a high overall grade for utility and versatility.

Nothing else like it in full size SUV. You will only spend more $$$ for the Escalade. Lots of room. Would never consider the smaller version. You can't haul people and groceries, or luggage what's the point??? Don't get a Ford or Lincoln.

The 6.0 Liter is as bullet proof as they come. It provides plenty of power to lug around itself and the family along in comfort.

Exterior : good headlights and marginal tail lights, big car that needs a lot of thinking before you park anywhaere ! (especially without any sensors) but at least you can park AT the SIDEWALK ! (i've done it myself!) marginal angles of view. Enterior : soild but kinda old dated enterior with plenty of space and a lot of places for your belongengs (6< cup holders+ extra places for all sord of things) larg back space for any luggage you want to throw in, very good seating finish, very spacious for a 7 adult seater. Handling: Soft handling favourse the quiet cruiser than the sporty one, marginal body tilt at curves (normal for an SUV), Great for long cruises but not for small roads and tight corners. Performance: GM's V8 5.3 trinitron Engine with 340hp at 6000rpm with an Automated 4 gears Gearbox , 0-62 at 8.9 sec, monstrous torque that would happily pull this bull in any condition.
