Not much changed for the Yukon SUV with the extended wheelbase as GMC anticipated a major redesign for 2007. Gas mileage across trims comes out to about 14 mpg in the city and 18 on the highway. Only the SL 1500 trims lack optional sunroof and navigation system. The non-Denali trims have 4 doors and seat 9 while the Denali seats 8. Max towing capacity comes out to 8200, 8500, or 12000 lbs. depending on the trim. Overall, drivers like the Yukon XL's powerful V8, roomy interior, and smooth handling. However, the bulky size makes for tight driving in residential areas. Despite the occasional issues, reviewers give the Yukon XL a high overall grade for utility and versatility.
