Overview
In the year before the Denali, not much changed for the GMC Envoy XL. The stretch version of the Envoy SUV comes in 4 trims for 2004: SLE 2WD, SLE 4WD, SLT 2WD, and SLT 4WD. All 4 trims have 4 doors, seat 7, and sport a 4.2 L, 275 hp I6 engine or an optional 5.3 L, 290 hp V8 with 4 speed automatic transmission.
As a general rule, expect to get 15 mpg in the city and 19 on the highway. The main difference between the SLE and SLT comes in the availability of a couple key features. The more refined SLT offers standard leather seats and an optional navigation system while the SLE offers neither. Max towing capacity comes out to 6700 lbs. for the 4WD trims and 7100 lbs. for the 2WD trims.
Overall, drivers like the capable powertrain, handling, and comfort that the 2004 GMC Envoy XL offers. Others would like to see better gas mileage. However, on the whole, the 2004 Envoy XL presents a solid option for Envoy fans who need room for a few more.

This is not what you call a fun car to drive, however, it does serve the purpose of "mommy wagon". It is a nice ride, very comfortable, gas mileage isn't bad. It hasn't needed any repairs so far...... The only thing I don't like about it is that it is difficult to gain entry to third row with all the car seats installed.

I have only owned this truck a few months I love it She looks great rides wonderfully has more than enough room for what I need in my opinion she is pretty good on gas averaging 6.7 Real comfortable on the hiway has all the options and everyone works great. No negative remarks so far. Recomend this truck fully.

I like that It cold hold a lot of people it has a great color and it is easy to maintain. It also has good gas mileage I don't like that parking is sometimes hard to find since its the envoy xl

well overall this truck was the best ive ever driven the only thing i didnt liek were a few specs of it.but i think this is a truck thats worth buyin becuz i got it passed to tow upto 12000 pounds and it was fine.the fuel economy seems good to me too since its average is 6.7. ive heard from other drivers that their envoys are gas guzzlers but iuuno mine was fine.soo id say its a good truck.
