Overview
The Chevelle was completely redesigned for the 1968. It received a sleek new look, including a wrap-over front fascia, fastback styling, and smaller rear windows. Two wheelbases were available: 112 inches for the sportier coupes and convertibles, and 116 inches for the sedans and wagons.
The base engine for the SS was a 396-ci V8 rated at 325 horsepower, and the high-end was the L78 396-ci V8 rated at 375 horsepower.
About 57,600 of the SS's were produced for 1968.

I built it myself, its got a 476 Big Block with 550hp and 500 ft lbs. of torque. Its fully restored to custom fit me. Outside it is covered in Atomic Orange Affect from the 2007 Z06 Corvette. Inside is decked out in black leather and cloth with silver accents. Gas mileage is around 8 mpg. Its the funnest car i have ever driven, its a rush.

It's still in construction just with the little stuff like paint and finishing the interior, the interior is custom with electric seats from an olds aurora and a custom built console holding a tci full drag shifter. As for the motor I'm gonna have to let ya'll keep guessing on that one!

This was a "real" SS 396. After owning one of these, few cars can compare. Mine was the 325hp with the m22 4 speed. Factory bench! I hate myself forever for not keeping it.

Performance- Very good, 396 Big Block,Comp Cams,New tires.It will squeel the Tires! Build- very good, hasnt been painted in 20 years and not faded, Mild squeaks in the front end. Roof needs some touch ups. Apperarence- Very Nice car, 1 little rip in the seat.Overall a very good Car.
