What’s New for the 2026 Genesis G70

For 2026, the Genesis G70 gets fresh visual interest thanks to a new Prestige Graphite trim level based on the 3.3T model. Otherwise, the G70 carries over unchanged except for some minor updates to options. This sedan is undoubtedly luxurious, thanks to its sleek lines and upscale touches, but its short rear end and long front overhang also give it a sporty look that's still timely even years after its introduction.

Design

The G70 is technically considered a small car by the standards of the luxury class, but carries the confidence of a much larger model. The big crest grille arguably looks overdone here, and is better proportioned on the brand’s SUVs, but it’s really the only ostentatious element of the G70’s exterior. Standard LED lighting is the class expectation these days, but it still works particularly well here. Elegant 19-inch alloy wheels fill the wells and emphasize the sporty stance. The new Prestige Graphite trim gets an exclusive exterior color, Ceres Blue, dressed up with dark chrome trim.

Powertrain

The G70’s standard powertrain in 2.5T models features a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine rated at 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. The G70 3.3T features a 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 rated at 365 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission comes standard and both versions are available with rear-wheel drive (RWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). The 3.3T Prestige model adds an adaptive suspension system that provides smooth cruising and confident corner-carving.

Interior

The Genesis G70 seats five passengers across its two rows, the cabin has a sophisticated design with elegant, quality finishes, and some trims include premium leather and sportier color combinations. For example, the new Prestige Graphite trim gets Nappa leather upholstery in Ultramarine Blue with orange contrast stitching.

Technology

The Genesis G70 comes standard with a 10.25-inch touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It's not as showy as some competitors’ systems, but is arguably more user-friendly, and has a responsive voice-recognition system. The navigation system pairs with the adaptive cruise control to automatically slow down through turns and curves. A six-speaker stereo comes standard, and a Lexicon system with 15 speakers is available.

Safety

The G70 comes standard with forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and lane-following assist. The latter two features comprise the Genesis Highway Driving Assist system, which enables some automated features in certain driving situations. Options include a blind-spot camera system, a surround-view camera system, and parking-distance sensors. The Genesis G70 hasn't been tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) at the time of writing, but earned top "Good" scores in its three Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) tests.
