Polestar may not be on everyone’s radar as an all-electric luxury automaker, but its second and third US-bound models are on their way for 2025. The Polestar 3 offers a surprisingly spacious interior, lively electric powertrain options, and strong handling, making it one of the more engaging options in its class.

What’s New for the 2025 Polestar 3
The Polestar 3 is an all-new model for 2025.
Design
The 3 is decidedly sportier and more aggressive looking than the Polestar 2, but it retains a friendly Volvo-inspired shape with some styling elements inspired by the parent company. It has Volvo’s signature "Thor’s Hammer" LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and a clean front-end look. Black plastic body cladding accents the sides, and the rear features a unique LED light bar that stretches between the taillights and offers funky light animations for approach, departure, and startup.
Powertrain
Polestar offers two powertrain options for the 3 in 2025. The base configuration includes two electric motors making a combined 489 horsepower and 620 pound-feet of torque, while the upgraded option offers 517 horsepower and 671 pound-feet of torque. Both choices have impressive specs and both are remarkably quick for a small SUV, with the zero-60-mph time landing in the mid-four-second range. Polestar quotes a range of 279 miles for the more powerful configuration and up to 315 miles for the base model, which are not class-leading numbers but are strong enough for most drivers’ needs.

Interior
The five-seat Polestar 3 features synthetic leather as standard, with heated, power-adjustable front seats and a heated steering wheel in the basic configuration. Wool or Nappa leather upholstery options are available, and buyers can add ventilated and massaging features to the top trim.
Technology
A large 14.5-inch touchscreen comes standard. It pairs with a 9-inch digital gauge cluster and offers wireless smartphone mirroring, voice commands, HD radio, SiriusXM radio, Bluetooth, 10 speakers, wireless charging, and more. A 25-speaker Bowers and Wilkins stereo and powered, soft-closing doors are available. Though it’s packed with features, the Polestar 3’s infotainment system can feel complicated and busy at times, making it more distracting and frustrating to use while driving.
Safety
The brand-new Polestar 3 hasn’t seen the business end of crash-testing with the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) yet, but the automaker equips a generous number of standard driver-assistance features. They include automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, intersection turning assist, a semi-automated highway-driving assistance package, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, a surround-view camera system, driver-attention warnings, and front and rear parking sensors.

Pricing and Release Date
As of the time of this writing, the 2025 Polestar 3 starts at $67,500. The first-year-only Launch Edition model offers additional tech features and an earlier delivery date for $78,900. Those are not the most affordable prices, but Polestar includes most features as standard, limiting the need for options and packages.
