What’s New for the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ

The Escalade IQ is an all-new model for the 2025 model year. Though it carries the Escalade name, it’s a completely different SUV: an EV (electric vehicle) built the same BT1 platform as the GMC Hummer EV. The Escalade name is only there to signify, “This is the largest EV in the lineup.”

Design

Though it is not technically a conventional Escalade, the Escalade IQ does share many design cues, such as a the slim LED headlights and large signature grille. It has a lower rear roof area and dimensions that significantly cut into the overall functionality and interior space in order to achieve some marginal aerodynamic gains.

Powertrain

The Escalade IQ comes equipped with GM’s Ultium battery pack, with 24 modules and a 200-kWh capacity. It routes power to dual electric motors that make a combined 750 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque. This allows the big electric SUV to haul from zero to 60 mph in under 5 seconds. It also comes standard with an adaptive air suspension and Magnetic Ride control.

According to Cadillac, the Escalade IQ has a range of up to 460 miles on a single charge. Thanks to 350-kW DC fast charging, the Escalade IQ can add up to 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes of charging.

2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ - Interior

Interior

Because of the EV powertrain, there is now open space where the engine would traditionally reside. Cadillac calls this the eTrunk (more commonly known as a frunk), and it provides 12.2 cubic feet of cargo space. Inside the cabin, the Escalade IQ provides up to 119.1 cubic feet with the second and third rows folded. With the second row in use, you'll have 69.1 cubic feet, and with all seats upright, you'll still find 23.6 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats.

Trims for the Escalade IQ are Luxury 1, Luxury 2, Sport 1, and Sport 2. Standard features on the Luxury 1 include power-folding third-row seats, power-adjustable front seats, heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, active noise cancellation, and a panoramic moonroof. Upgraded trims boast features such as massaging front seats, power open-close doors, and a second-row entertainment system.

Technology

The Escalade IQ boasts an impressive 55-inch display that spans the entire dash. Due to GM’s new approach to infotainment, it lacks Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Escalade IQ also comes with a 19-speaker AKG premium audio system.

Safety

Standard driver-assistance features on the Escalade IQ include automatic emergency braking, blind-zone steering assist, a 360-degree parking camera system, and a head-up display. It also comes standard with GM’s Super Cruise semi-autonomous highway driving system.
