Audi’s A8 sedan has long held the top spot in the automaker’s expansive car catalog, offering impressive performance, an opulent interior, and the latest tech and safety features. That said, it has been surpassed in the luxury and tech departments by some rivals, including the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

What’s New for the 2025 Audi A8
Audi made several improvements to the A8 for the 2025 model year, including new wheel options, a standard heated steering wheel, and revisions to existing options packages that brought new features.
Design
The latest A8 features a somewhat subdued design, with a large grille, slim headlights, and smooth sides. Audi avoids loud badges and logos for the car, opting instead for subtle styling elements like black exterior trim, various wheel designs, and unique color options. In addition to the standard color catalog, buyers can choose one of Audi’s Exclusive colors for an extra cost.
Powertrain
The A8 comes with a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. The combination produces 335 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, which reaches all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. While it’s not super quick, the car still returns a 5.6-second 0-60 mph time and a top speed of 130 mph. At the same time, the car maintains a smooth ride quality, but it’s no slouch when the roads turn curvy.
The separate high-performance S8 sports a much hotter twin-turbo V8 with 563 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque.

Interior
The five-seat A8 comes standard with Valetta leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and 22-way power-adjustable front seats. More expensive configurations add Valcona leather upholstery, heated armrests, massaging seats, and massaging rear seats. With so much interior space, there’s not a bad seat in the house, and adults can ride comfortably in the rear. That said, the car lacks the generous cargo space many competitors offer, at just 12.5 cubic feet in the trunk.
Technology
A 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a dual-touchscreen infotainment system come standard. The infotainment system uses 10.1- and 8.6-inch displays and offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth, multiple USB outlets, and more. Audi’s dual-screen setup is intimidating but relatively easy to use, and the displays offer good processing power for responsive and snappy navigation. Higher trims add upgraded stereo options and more interior lighting choices.
Safety
The A8 hasn’t yet been tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. It comes standard with forward-collision warnings, automatic emergency braking, traffic-sign recognition, pedestrian detection, rain-sensing wipers, driver attention monitoring, parking sensors, a 360-degree camera system, automatic high beams, and more. Available tech includes a head-up display, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts.

Pricing and Release Date
As of the time of this writing, the 2025 Audi A8 starts at $93,295. Audi offers a range of upgrades that can quickly drive the price higher, including $2,600 21-inch wheels and multiple leather upholstery options.
