What’s New for the 2025 Audi A5
Audi fully redesigned the A5 and S5 for 2025, giving it revised styling, additional standard tech and safety features, and more. The automaker also shuffled the car’s body styles for 2025, leaving only the regular model, though additional body styles (sportback, coupe) remain on sale early in the calendar year.
Design
The A5 is a sleeker, slimmer four-door car with a unique shape and a sweeping roofline. Audi offers a range of wheel and color options, and buyers can opt for appearance packages with dark exterior trim and other upgrades.
Powertrain
While the S5 and RS 5 both have significant performance upgrades over the base A5, the standard car’s athleticism is nothing to sneeze at. The base engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, making 201 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque. A more powerful version of that engine is available, which produces 261 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. Both engines pair with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive. Audi notes a mid-five-second 0-60 mph time for the car, and the most efficient base engine offers up to 36 mpg on the highway.
Interior
Leather upholstery is standard, along with heated front seats. Audi offers upgraded leather and synthetic suede upholstery, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and ventilated front seats. The A5 is listed as a five-seater, but it’s much more comfortable for four people. The front buckets are wide, spacious, and nicely padded, but the back bench could use more support, and it’s tight on hip room and headroom, especially for taller adults. That said, the A5’s large rear hatch affords excellent cargo space, at 21.8 cubic feet behind the rear seats.
Technology
Audi equips a 10.1-ich touchscreen and 7-inch digital gauge cluster as standard. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, and ten speakers are also on board by default. More expensive configurations add a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster with Audi’s excellent Digital Cockpit system. The interface offers displays for maps, media, vehicle operations, and more.
Safety
The new A5 was rated five stars overall by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and didn’t earn a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), but it has a handful of advanced driver aids as standard. They include automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure alerts, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, forward collision warnings, and traffic sensors. Audi offers blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, a head-up display, and a surround-view camera system.
Pricing and Release Date
As of this writing, pricing for the base 2025 Audi A5 starts at $51,355, which includes a $1,295 destination charge. The most expensive Prestige TFSI trim starts at $57,445, and Audi offers packages and upgrades that push those prices higher.
