What’s New for the 2024 BMW 2 Series
The 2 Series was completely redesigned for the 2022 model year. The sporty BMW M2, treated as a separate model, was introduced in 2023. For 2024, there are few to no changes on the BMW 2 Series-the automaker has focused its attention on more substantial updates for the 2025 model year.
Design
The 2024 BMW 2 Series has an athletic design, highlighted by sharp lines and an aggressive stance. The front fascia features BMW's signature kidney grille, flanked by LED headlights. The 2 Series comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, and it is available with 19-inch wheels. Buyers can select the Sport Line package with dark exterior accents, or the M Sport package with upgraded aerodynamic body work.
Powertrain
There are two powertrains that can be selected on the 2024 2 Series. The 230i comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine, producing 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Rear-wheel drive (RWD) is standard, with xDrive all-wheel drive (AWD) as an option. The M240i is powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine, delivering 382 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. The M240i comes standard with xDrive AWD. This configuration allows the M240i to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds. Both engines route power through an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Fuel economy for the 230i is estimated at 26 mpg city, 35 highway, and 29 combined, while the M240i achieves 23 mpg city, 32 highway, and 26 combined. Premium fuel is recommended.
Interior
The 2 Series has 10 cubic feet of trunk space, which is not much for a typical car, but decent for a small sports coupe. The rear seats fold flat, allowing for a bit more cargo space.
The 2024 2 Series comes equipped with synthetic leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Available features include genuine leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a premium Harman Kardon audio system.
Technology
The 2024 2 Series boasts cutting-edge technology, including a standard 8.8-inch infotainment display and a 5.1-inch digital instrument cluster. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, as well as a Wi-Fi hotspot and a 10-speaker audio system. The 2 Series can also be had with an upgraded 10.25-inch infotainment screen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless device charging, and a premium Harman Kardon sound system.

Safety features in the 2024 2 Series include standard forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and blind-spot monitoring. Available driver-assistance tech includes adaptive cruise control, a head-up display, and a surround-view camera system.
