Overheating

Asked by Slim_386 Aug 07, 2018 at 09:50 AM about the 2005 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT Quad Cab LB RWD

I have done all but replace the water pump. I back flushed
the heater core.  I checked the thermostat. Also the A.C
compressor stays on when the heat is on.

Have you replaced the radiator; flushed/drained the engine block? The a/c "staying on" has nothing to do with the heat function, it's independent. Turn it off manually if you're unsure n see what happens...ALSO...it operates continuously if your mode control is in defrost mode. that's NTSB standards for safety reasons.
