Dodge Ram 1500

My truck was running hot and then
eventually shut off then I would wait a little
bit and put water In it and it would run fine
just still a little hot then it shut of. The last
time and now won’t star sounds like it
wants to but it won’t the radiator resivor
smells like gas and out and it just won’t
start

If the radiator res smells like gas, then you got combustion gases in the antifrz. Is there a milky color to your oil? Where exactly it's comin' from is anyone's guess. From your "overheating" description, sounds like a warped cylinder head or cracked block. Time for a compression check, both dry n wet. Bad news...Prolly time for an engine teardown, good news...It could always be something else. Unless your a crackerjack mechanic with auto testing tools, mite be time for a professional mechanic, unfortunately.
