Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 96 f 150 4x4 with a 5 point o. The
Aode transmission went out. Can it be
replaced with a 4 r 70 w or e 4 od if so,
which one? And will I have to swap any parts
from the old transmission 2 the new one.

Automatic transmissions are electronically controlled which means the engine and transmission go together. If you install a newer transmission, especially a different model your ECU will not recognize the transmission and it probably won't work.
