2017 Honda RidgelineReview

We were looking for a truck for light hauling. Not for off-road. And I didn’t want to truck that looked all tricked out and masculine. I wanted a smooth ride, and a functional truck. We ruled out other midsize trucks because they rode like a truck. And as a passenger, the ride was unsettling. I prefer a ride like butter. Then we found the Honda Ridgeline. Because it is built different than the other midsize trucks, basically a truck body or an SUV base, it rides as smooth as silk. It doesn’t look like I’m trying to be young, or masculine or tough. It’s a classy looking little truck. The electronics inside blow me away. All of the safety features, and the space inside the backseat. It was exactly what we were looking for. I just didn’t know it existed until I found the Ridgeline. |

2017 Honda Ridgeline RTL Review
JBimmerle says:
No real point of comparing these two models, other than the age difference, but they have the same specs and all. I drove both the 2017 and 2019 versions, and ended up purchasing a 2017 RTL FWD with only 7800 miles on it. Both vehicles drive the same and both are great vehicles, but for me it was the added savings of buying a used vehicle. I have had the truck for just over 4 weeks now and absolutely love it. It has plenty of power for everyday driving and of course it is handy to have a truck for so many reasons. I looked at many trims and do wish I had the added features that come with the RTL-T model, but for the price and the reality of my driving needs, all of that is just not necessary. I will be happy with this truck for a long time. vs2019 Honda Ridgeline RTL FWD
2017 Honda Ridgeline RTL winning categories:
Power
Ranked 2019 Honda Ridgeline RTL FWD worse.
"Neither is more powerful, but for normal driving this vehicle has PLENTY of power."
Looks/Style
Ranked 2019 Honda Ridgeline RTL FWD worse.
"They look the same so no benefit either way"
Value
Ranked 2019 Honda Ridgeline RTL FWD worse.
"The added savings of a certified pre owned vehicle with really low miles was the only thing that made it a better value."
Would Buy
Ranked 2019 Honda Ridgeline RTL FWD worse.
"Buy either vehicle, you wont regret it. As you will find in shopping for used models they hold their value really well. So depending on what you find, the newer model may be just as affordable over the long haul, but I will say that I would recommend this truck to anyone that wants a truck that is really handy while also a great highway vehicle (other than gas mileage). I do not go off roading and dont really need the 4x4 components of a pickup. I also love being able to have a bed for hauling various things, but dont tend to pull trailers and such so this truck was a perfect fit. " |
