2012 Acura TSX Sport Wagon FWD with Technology PackageReview

Great Familiy Ride And Commuter. — I use this car as my daily commuter. Very reliable and comfortable. I'm 6'-3", no issue on long rides. I have a Thule roof rack with bike carriers, ski carriers and a roof box. I have never missed my prior SUV's, the Acura gets the job done. Would absolutely buy again. Update Sep-2015: I now have 36k miles on the car, continues to run like a top, no squeaks, no rattles. Sole issue was a failed mirror control switch - it can become wet from top of frame drips in wet weather with window open. Covered by Acura, no questions. Car performing exactly how you would expect after 3+ years. Great purchase. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Came from SUV's. The TSX Sportwagon takes care of all chores without fail, big enough to carry everything without being oversized. Handling is right on. Cons: Slightly underpowered. Passable but the sport refers to the ability to carry bikes, car top carriers and skis, not power. ![]() Looking for a Used TSX in your area?CarGurus has 723 nationwide TSX listings starting at $1,999. |

Great Way To Spend 32k On A Sedan (updated 8-22-15) — This certainly isn't original, but you get a lot of bang for your buck with this Acura. I think it's good-looking too. It's going away next year, apparently, and the ILX certainly can't fill its shoes, from everything I've read (haven't driven one myself though). Update, 8-22-15: Our lease on the TSX was up in June and we let it go back, even though the terms were good enough that buying it out would not have been dumb. After three years, and some experience in other cars, I docked it on power and back seats from what I rated it initially, and I would have docked it for ride if that had been an option. The best review I ever read of this car was on a Canadian car site. The reviewer liked the car a lot--as do I--but faulted it for not being cohesive--for suspension tuning that didn't match the power on offer and the steering; for a ride that was too nervous for the rest of the car, as if Acura at first decided to make it sportier than they ultimately did, or the other way around. In other words, for the rather nervous ride and the road noise, it needed to be more powerful and a sharper handler. It isn't really a sport sedan and it isn't really a luxury sedan. And my thinking about how to buy cars as changed as I've learned more and gotten more confident; when I think about what I can get on the used market for this money, there is no contest. And the previous gen TSX, which is generally regarded as a better car, is a screaming deal right now. Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: It's a sporty car, not a sports car. It doesn't have that European leather-wood interior look that I love, but it does have a very nicely finished out interior and it's a high-quality car all around,. We like the tech on it and the sound system is awesome. Voice command system works well.
Cons:
If you are used to a nice-sized V6, you might not like this engine. It's a normally-aspirated 4 and you need to rev it to move briskly. Not a fast car, but feels faster than it is when you drive it with spirit, which is nice. |

Love This Car But Need More Room For Traveling Long Distances. — This car is very reliable, sporty and has a great pick up. Love the way it drives and is very smooth in the take off and breaking. The features that automatically came with the car was a great buying incentive for me. As a traveler that love to drive across different states with friends,,,,the back seat is not the most comfortable space wise. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Great car, great features and a smooth ride. Vary powerful sporty ride. Cons: Back seat is not made for passengers going on a long trip. |

A Great Car Especially For The Price — Sporty look, has the paddle shifters for that pseudo manual feel, and fantastic fuel economy. This car generally gets a 5 star rating from me for most categories, because the Acura team knew what this car was, and what it wasnt. At the end of the day, this car will perform well for 180-300k miles assuming you do your basic maintenance. The issues that plague a lot of luxury cars just wont be an issue here. Highly recommended if you want that car that can do everything except for extreme performance and will last for years and years Pros: This car is able to do everything except extreme performance pickup. But thats to be expected with a 4 cyl engine. Overall, a truly superb vehicle. Cons: There are really no cons |

Love It! — Has a great smooth ride, takes the turns with ease and has a tight suspension along with great features. Very low to the ground but that's what you get if you are looking for a sporty ride with a great look. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Great ride and nice handling car. Great features for the price! Cons: Small back seat but duable if you have a small family. |

Great First Impression — I got the The SE package provides a little more sporty feel. Fun to drive. Sportier bumper and side spoiler provide eye catching appeal. Red stitching on black seats and trim along with the red accent lights on the black carpet inside make a contrast. The memory seat locations for 2 drivers is nice. The stereo system will rock! Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Good handling car. Eye catching. With the Xenon HID lights are extremely helpful on unlighted streets. Cons: Poor city mpg (20mpg) compared to great highway mpg ( 33 mpg) |

Luxury Ride And Comfort Without The Luxury Price — The reason I chose this car was based on a strict criteria. Had to be fun to drive, have cool styling, comfortable ride, full tech package, good gas mileage, and a wagon. There were only three cars that fit this - Acura, Audi, and BMW. The other criteria that only Acura fit - it was within our budget. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: The handling and power for a 4-cylinder is great. Love the tech package that is actually pretty intuitive versus some of the other systems out there. Cons: Not a lot of leg room for the rear passengers, but for our family with two young kids, this hasn't been an issue. |

Comfortable with decent visibility out the back, normal Acura dependability, handled good. I bought one though I wanted an Allroad because the prices were better and fear of reliability with the Allroad. vs2015 Audi A4 Allroad 2.0T quattro Premium Plus AWD
