The RAV4 handles incredibly well. The engine is extremely quick for a 4-cylinder. The ride is very smooth and turning is a dream. I like the overall interior and how the Ipod adapter is set up so you can change settings as you drive.

The fastest car I've ever owned. Quicker than a Mazda Miata. 0-60 in 6.1 seconds and quarter mile in 14.6 seconds! Great gas mileage to boot! Build quality is great. It's a Toyota. Appearance is sleek. Leather inside, moonroof, JBL audio + subwoofer. Cost is low. I only expect routine maintenance. It is very fun!

Toyota quality has fallen dramatically. I have driven a 1997 Toyota Tercel for many years before buying this vehicle. I chose it base on my experience with the Tercel which was still running fine when I traded it in, but it finally started to show rust. The 2009 RAV4, being 12 years newer is already showing signs of body rust along the bottom edge. Also, I didnt learn about an ongoing issue with the torque converter in the 4 cylinder version of this vehicle line until after I bought it and notice odd rumbling noise at around 40 mph. After doing research it seems this is caused by a poorly designed transmission+torque converter. The transmission fluid is dark with particles in it. So far, it is still going, but this has caused me to lose confidence in it. I chose an older RAV4 because they have true 4 wheel drive and because they come with a full size spare. Both of these features are important if you plan drive out in the sticks. I like the design, just wish the quality was still there.

Good features more than I needed or wanted, but came at a great value and price. Nothing missing, compared to a Honda CRV

what's not to like in the RAV.... near perfect.... I wish it came with in dash navigation but I was told it's only available in US models. The thing I love the most is the roaring of the very responsive engine when you press down the gas pedal

Love this vehicle! Got it for my 16-year-old daughter for her first car but we’re having to fight over who gets to drive it! Sensible comfortable has all the right features and benefits just enough not too busy. Spacious for a compact SUV and surprising pick up given the fact it’s only a four-cylinder. Toyota quality super happy with the purchase would definitely buy another one in future

The acceleration of this car with a V6 is great. The transmission shifts smoothly and ride is a bit stiffer than the two wheel drive version. The car handles very well and brakes are excellent. The car is an excellent commuter vehicle with the handling, ride, and fuel economy. Being a Toyota, the car requires little maintenance except for normal servicing.

The V6 has great acceleration and fine handling. Everything is simply great about this car especially value for money... if it wasn't for the plastic parts in the interior it would have passed as a Lexus No navigation packages were offered in Canada for this model. The upgraded audio system from JBL and the back view mirror were valuable additions

* The performance is overall great, no sluggish response, and for a small SUV the turns are very smooth. *Build Quality: The build outside seems great, however, inside the car I can hear a small plastic rattling in the back. Side note: there is plenty of room on the inside, I am 6'5 and I don't feel cramped at all. *Cost of ownership: isn't bad so far. I get approx 22 MPG in the city and burbs, and the price for gas isn't terrible *Fun Fact: The steering feel very responsive, the turns are smooth and it's really fun to drive, and the blind spots aren't bad at all for a SUV.
