2008 Siennas are a great choice. They’re reliable and very comfortable for traveling. They’re available with or without AWD, although the AWD takes a toll on fuel economy and AWD models don’t have a spare tire, so keep that in mind. 2004-2010 Siennas are available in a very versatile 8 passenger version, much more flexible than most other 8 passenger vans, including newer Siennas. 2004-2006 models have a timing belt engine, but 2007-2010 vans have a timing chain engine, which is an important consideration in selecting a van that you might want to keep for awhile.

Great Family Car, Comfy For Long Trips, Can Haul Anything — I like everything about this car. I wanted the option of sliding the middle row seats together, so the car seat wasn't right next to the door. The 3rd room is a split row, so you can put either side down or both, which is awesome. There are more cup holders than seats.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Very quiet, easy ride, power everything, leather interior easy to maintain with kids, all windows open, great air flow, drives easy, automatic doors are the best.

Cons: The driver door hinge can break, and Toyota won't fix it.  A good body shop can weld it back, don't replace the whole door.

Great Family Van For All Occasions. — I would recommend this van to any family. You can't beat all the safety features and the reliability of a Toyota. As with any front wheel drive minivan, really watch your tire rotations as they tend to chew through the front tires with all the weight, power, and steering being on the same axle. Would buy one again. The transmission is solid but with so many speeds it always seems to be searching for the right gear...never had a problem with it, it's just kind of annoying.

Pros: Tons of room, comfortable, and very reliable.  Very low cost of ownership and holds it's value.

Cons: The transmission!!!  It's fine, but always feels like it's searching for the right gear.  Hesitates when you want it to go, revving high in a gear when it should shift.  They are all like that.

Good Value In A Minivan. — The best thing about this van specifically is the AWD. It goes through the snow with ease and confidence. The power is good and the handling is the best in a minivan (we've had a 4 other minivans so far). The only real negative is the gas mileage. It is common for it to dip down to 17-18 mpg.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Excellent ride and handling for a minivan (far better than our past Chrysler products). Good power when you need it. Quiet inside.

Cons: Engine is a bit noisy (ticking sound) when cold. Once inside, you cannot hear it, but standing outside you can.
