2008 Subaru Legacy 2.5 i Special EditionReview

The Mid Size Vehicle That Few People Are Aware Of. — The Legacy competes with other mid size vehicles. It is also not known to the public and Subaru is a niche brand. However, to those who are looking and search deep enough, this is really a gem in the ruff. For low 20s, it comes standard with a moonroof, powerseats, 17 in alloy wheels, AWD, 2.5 boxer 4cyl that produces 170HP and a sporty ride with good handling thanks to its compact dimensions and AWD.

Pros: AWD, Standard Alloy wheels, power seats with lumbar support, multi-trip computer

Cons: Power, Braking, overly boosted steering, rear passenger seating room, lack of adjustment on passenger seat. No heated cloth seats available.

Hell On Wheels, And No One Knows It. — So far I love this car, it is amazing. It handles and drives better then almost pretty much any car I have ever driven. The factory tires are not up t o par for the caliber of vehicle it is...THe looks are smooth and sweet, professional and dashing. This car is for people who want performance, 4 door sedan, can tackle any of the elements with ease. the seats heat up quick, navi is sweet.. needs xenon lights though... for the money it should have them.. black charcoal sued with black leather, sweet.... factory 18's. 6 speed.

Pros: everything, power, handles, interior, rims, brushed nickel interior. navi

Cons: no xenon lights, could be a little wider.stereo system is weak, front door rattle with little volume. dynamat, extra money ;  (

I Love It. — I do a lot of highway driving so I eat up tires. I get around 23mpg in the city and 29 on the highway, which is great for an AWD car. It handles better than most too. Do regular maintenance and the car will treat you great. It's really comfortable with a lot of features at a low price. Everyone who sees it, can't tell what kind of car it is off the bat, but they like what they see.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Great quality, not many on the road.

Cons: I cant think of anything

This Car Rocks, Has Everything I Need And More!!! — I haved owned this car for just over three years and have loved every drive. The AWD is absolutely amazing in winter when combined with a good set of winter tires. Added the STi strut tower brace, was an inexpensive way to tighten handling even more.

Owner for 0 years, 6 months

Primary Use: Family transportation

Miles Driven per Year:16,000

Pros: AWD, 6 speed, turbo boxer engine, premium summer tires

Cons: Premium gas is required

2008 Subaru Legacy Review
says:
Nice car overall. A step up from Accord or Camry. Nice range of models (has a wagon option). The Limited sedan, with the V6, handled well, and got good gas mileage. I noticed that it didnt corner as well, or accelerate as fast as my Milan AWD Premier Premium Edition. Traction was great in the Legacy, but I felt more confident in the rain at highway speeds in the Milan. Resale value is good with Subaru, but rust can become an issue. We passed on two Subarus before buying our Milan. The main reason was rust. After owning the Milan, I see why it wont the quality award, over the Subaru. Better quality materials in the interior.

Power Ranked 2008 Mercury Milan V6 Premium AWD better.
"Acceleration. When you step on the gas, the Mercury gets you onto the expressway faster, up the hills easier. Subaru had to review higher, and it was noticeably slower. Not Accord or Camry slow, but slower than the Milan."
Handling Ranked 2008 Mercury Milan V6 Premium AWD better.
"The cornering and bump absorbtion, was much better with the Milan. Great for the city bumps, or the country back roads."
Front Seats Ranked 2008 Mercury Milan V6 Premium AWD better.
"Subaru seats look great too, but the Milan has more support, and better long trip comfort. The leather in the Premium Edition Milan, is more supple. Doesnt feel like it will crack as quick."
Cargo Capacity Ranked 2008 Mercury Milan V6 Premium AWD better.
"Largest trunk in its class"
Family Car Ranked 2008 Mercury Milan V6 Premium AWD better.
"Milsn has more room for 5, a larger trunk, and is cheaper to maintain. "
Value Ranked 2008 Mercury Milan V6 Premium AWD worse.
"The only advantage to the Subaru is the resale value. Its only a few hundred dollars difference. But it is noticeable especially when the miles are over 100,000. Mine has less than half that, but it was fair to give the Subaru advantage here. "
Would Buy Ranked 2008 Mercury Milan V6 Premium AWD better.
"The Milan, is simply a better car. The handling, comfort, and quality of the interior, outshine the Legacy."
