Madison — Good, not great. This car always needs little things fixed. I love driving it. It's a perfect size, has a 6 speed manual, the Sport Pkg, powerful, smooth - a great cruiser. But little things always go wrong - the turbo is sometimes intermittent and when driven hard often trips the "engine malfunction" warning, the passenger seat ALWAYS thinks someone is in it and I have to drive with that seat-belt buckled. On cold days when I park outside for a long time (a work day) the tire pressure monitor pings relentlessly and I have to stop, turn the car off and let the TMP reset after driving for 10-15 min. And now the driver's side mirror has a mind of its own, moving to the most extended outward position each time the car is turned off, and won't return unless I do it by hand. What a pain.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: I love driving this car.  It's a perfect size, has a 6 speed manual, the Sport Pkg, powerful, smooth - a great autobahn cruiser.

Cons: Little things always go wrong - the turbo is intermittent and when driven hard often trips the "engine malfunction" warning, the passenger seat ALWAYS thinks someone is in it and I have to drive with that seat-belt buckled, and on clod days when I park outside for a long time (a work day) the tire pressure monitor pings relentlessly.

Bmw 550i — Have really enjoyed this car. Never had a 5-series before, only 3-series and the BMW performance did not skip a beat. The Bremmer sport wheels give the sportscar look i was after and with the V8 engine, interstate driving became sporty.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Heated steering wheel, great power and handling, hwy mpg good, gets around in snow well with rwd traction control, unique car do not see many other 550's on the road.

Cons: no factory remote start

Great Car, Especially If Bought Used — This is a great car. I wouldn't buy it new, because they depreciate fast. You can get a great deal on a 3/4 year old car that is best in class. I highly recommend to anyone who likes cars not just for their looks, but how they drive.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great Handling

Cons: Depreciate fast

Most Fun Car I Have Ever Driven! — very hard to go to another car once you have driven a BMW. the statement "Once you go Beamer you never go back!" very true once you experience it yourself. I love the car in every aspect so far and it has not given me any trouble.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: very comfortable fun smooth

Cons: I havent found anything wrong with it. drives great and havent had to do any maintenance

My 3rd Bmw — Loved this car and will stay with BMW till i find a car i do not like which will be never. Car is a dream in the snow and rain and in perfect conditions is an amazing machine to tear through turns with its AWD.

Pros: Fun to drive, 6 speed transmission shifts with no effort in and out of gear.  No complaints

Cons: None

Over All Good Car — BMW seriously needs to address the quality of the paint job. I often see the front and rear bumpers clear coat peeling and that definitely needs to be corrected. Other than the exterior paint job I would recommend investing in this vehicle.

Pros: Luxury and power

Cons: Not impressed with the quality of the factory paint

Clear coat notorious for peeling.

Family Mans Car With A Twist Of Driving Enjoyment — If you are like me, in that you are married with several children, you need a way to haul them all around, but still want to enjoy your automobile. If this is the case, the 550i might just be the car for you. Great to drive, firm handling, but enough doors and space to handle the kids and their gear. It is fairly expensive to maintain and with the big V8 and a lead foot, it can be expensive to fuel. Enjoyed most every minute driving this car!

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Incredible automobile in most all ways

Cons: Incredibly expensive to fuel, and maintain

Top Notch Sport Sedan — 2008 550i awesome sport sedan in it's day. The newer 5 series looks better but does not have the same connection to the rode. Decent gas milleage and maintenance has not been a problem so far. Have owned the car 2 1/2 years.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Sportiness

Cons: Outdated look

Best Car I've Ever Owned — I loved the handling, power and styling. Its an amazing car! I think that for the money this is the best sedan on the road. Fast, reliable and it definitely turns heads. The engine is powerful and the car hugs the road like no other BMW that I've owned and i have owned 12. This is the car if you are looking for performance and practicality in 1 vehicle.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Sleek, Fast, Beautiful

Cons: BMW's can be expensive to fix if you don't take care of them
