A budget Lamborghini? Yes, that's absurd, and no, it doesn't exist, but three years ago the carmaker did introduce a lower-priced (!?!) alternative to the Murcielago, and it's become its best seller. The Lamborghini Gallardo, however, is no slouch in the performance or style department. It's all angles and bends, with a low, aggressive front end and steeply angled windshield, all hinting at forward motion.
The 2007 Gallardo ups horsepower by 19 to 512 in its mid-mounted, 5.0-liter V10. A 6-speed manual is standard, but an optional E-gear clutchless paddle shifter with automatic or sport mode is available. If you care, and you probably do, the Gallardo gets for 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds, with a maximum speed of 195 mph. And fuel economy for this car...oh, just kidding.
Available as a coupe or convertible, the 2007 Gallardo gets a new convenient and fast power top for its Spyder roadster. What makes the Gallardo even more versatile is its all-wheel drive system, which distributes torque where it's needed. A weight ratio of 48/52 front/rear is supposed to improve stability and handling. A pop-up roll bar is included for safety, as are standard antilock brakes, and an electronically adjustable rear spoiler is included for looks.
In 2007, a special edition Gallardo Nera will be offered in limited numbers. The Nera features Alcantara leather headliner, seats, and trim, a rear-view camera, and a navigation system. Exterior color will be menacing black. Great engine growl and better street maneuverability than the Murcielago are highlights of the Gallardo (aside from the obvious thrilling speed). Some rear visibility issues are rectified by the optional camera.

you. Passing/drifting through gaps is effortless and
the 15.1" Brembos with 8 pistons per caliper will pull
you down from triple the highways speed limit. It's

This car is amazing. The acceleration is unbelievable and the handling is redicolus. There is nothing to not like about this car . The only minor problem is this car is all wheel drive. Therefore when making a sharp turn the all wheel drive makes it ride like a truck.Dec 22, 2008

Wow... Lovely car...
Has such amazing grip on corners its frightening... However, did not find the E-Gear very good, it is clunky and makes a big jerk when changing gears, even when you take your foot off the power a bit...
Build quality was ok. Leather dashboard and seats are very smart, however, the plastic door handles do not make a good impression.

Drove this now about 2 months ago. Well, comparing it to my F430, this car is no where as in the way it performs,the way it handles,and the way it looks. This car just feels like a big Audi TT. Well sort of (saying that it is alot more powerful) but it is more comfortable, more civilised especially and the spyder version looks astonishingly beautiful.
I only opt for the F430 because
- It cost cheaper
- It feels better
- It drives better
- has a smaller engine size which means I pay less roadtax
- and because it's a Ferrari
Well the thing is that in the Gallardo you get luxuries! i mean you get satnav, superb leather seats and it makes you feel superb in it. I really can't explain why but this car feels good. People just look at you when you drive around in it but somehow because now that Lamborghini is made by Audi, it just doesn't feel as grand but not saying that I wouldn't buy one. People who have driven this car would understand what im talking about and I think this car is exactly the exact replica of Audi's first attempt at creating a Lambo. It just isn't as poise because it's just soo civilised. Olden day Lambo's have always been lunatic and you just go crazy just to drive one. Elvis Presly shot his lambo because it was soo difficult to drive. This was what all Lambo's should be and not poise,easy and no lunacy in it.
However at some point I think I am wrong. I mean who am I lying about, it does look better than an F430. Look at it and i just think I would opt to buy one soon because it's easier to drive in the city and it's 4WD system gives a 70-30 power distribution. That means it can powerslide but it also give's you grip and I love the e-gear! the flappy paddle gearbox.
The only thing is that if i were to buy one, I have got to buy the Spyder version. Simply because
- It looks better
- It's more powerful
- It looks innocent in white
- and I can hear the engine noise
but DONT BE FOOLED! Audi has just release the Audi R8 which shares the same chasis with this car and i heard that it handles much better and you pay half of what you pay for this BIG Audi TT. The only thing is that it only has 420hp. thats short of nearly 100hp and thats alotJan 06, 2008

The car not only lloks amazing but drives as good as it looks. The new
doors added by hamann are a nice touch but can make it difficult getting
out in a regluar parking lot! I personally drove a car identical to this one,
