Jaguar has offered the XK for ten years now, as a car that embodies the balance between performance and refinement, as well as between classic and cutting edge. The designer of the new XK is Ian Callum, who is also behind the Aston Martin DB7. With this new design, Callum pays tribute to the well-respected E-Type Jaguars of the early 1960s. Traditionally, Jaguar has embraced many of their previous styling attributes on new models, offering visible reminders of the British marque's glorious past.
The 2007 XK is roomier thanks to a longer wheelbase, better equipped, and lighter (due to an all-aluminum construction) than its predecessors. There are four models available for 2007, created from the combination of two trims and two body styles. The XK is the entry point in price, offered as either a coupe or convertible. The XKR is a high-performance variation also available with both body styles.
The standard features are similar for both trims, but the XKR adds some performance-oriented extras like larger wheels, larger brakes, more responsive steering, and a firmer suspension. Every XK includes xenon HID headlamps, leather/power/heated seats, wood trim, parking sensors, keyless start, DVD navigation, an in-dash CD changer, a steering wheel-mounted paddle shifter and Bluetooth.
Both trims are powered by a 4.2-liter V8 that generates 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque on its own. Upgrading to the XKR adds a supercharger, bumping horsepower up to 420. This power supply propels the XKR from 0 to 60 in about 5 seconds. All XKs include a six-speed automatic transmission, sending the power to the rear wheels.

These are great vehicles. Very comfortable to drive. Great looking cars, designed by the same designer as the Aston Martin for that year. I had zero issues with mine until it was flooded by Hurricane Ian. No mechanical problems at all in tge 5 years I owned mine. I loved it so much, I am buying another. Should have a trunk that can fit a wheelchair. Or, rear seats could be folded down to expand trunk storage space. HP on the V8 should be more than 300. Other non Turbo 3.5 liter V6 has 300hp.Oct 21, 2022

It’s a good looking car but not without its faults.
As far as reliability, it’s not a Toyota or Honda so be prepared to be on a first name basis with your mechanics. If you don’t like to tinker with cars this may not be the best car for you.May 10, 2022

I owned a 2008 XK, and that one was nearly identical to the 2007 XK. I would still have the 2008 XK but for an accident involving a coyote of all things. The car is beautiful and often gets compliments. My 2008 didnt have a supercharger like the 2007 I am looking at has, so as much fun as my 2008 was I imagine the 2007 XKR will probably knock my socks off. Overall, I have never enjoyed a car as much as the Jaguar. If you think of buying a newer version, be aware that starting with te 2010 model Jaguar started using a rotary knob instead of a proper shift lever. I drove a loaner that had the knob and hated it.Jul 14, 2021

The XK Convertible is an excellent GT Sports Car. Strong engine, smooth ride, good handling. The interior is elegant and classic. If well maintained, there are no mechanical problems with this Jaguar. It will surely become a collectible classic in the future. Feb 03, 2021

Loved the car's looks and handling; great throat; acceleration on the top range is phenomenal...love punching it at 70 and getting to 100 in no time at all. Everyone loves the way it looks! Handles great, back seat only for groceries, or 6 year old kids.
Downside, gotta tip $20 to every valet cause you don't want this car parked any where else but in front. Expensive to operate but then again maybe you should buy a ChevyApr 09, 2014

The Jaguar XK is not a porsche, corvette or a mercedes SLK but it does have the best balance between luxury, performance, style, quality and VFM. If you want a car that puts a smile on your face every time you get in it and gets accolade after accolade when you fill it up with gas then this is the car for you. It oozes sophistication. If you want to go round country lanes on 3 wheels, burn rubber and get the back end twitching then go get a Porsche or a Corvette.Nov 22, 2011

I drove this car at Jonathan Palmers Bedford Autodrome. I had an instructor and he help me to use the car in anger! I threw this thing into corners at 100mph, and I floored it out, but I could not spin it. Herein lies the problem, there are so many electronics that you cant really have a bit of fun with the rear end. However it is the safest I have felt in a car.Aug 03, 2008
